Psalm 64 :: Legacy Standard Bible (LSB)

The Righteous Will Be Glad in Yahweh

Psa 64:1

For the choir director. A Psalm of David.

Hear my voice, O God, in my [fn]complaint;

Guard my life from dread of the enemy.

Psa 64:2

Hide me from the secret counsel of evildoers,

From the tumult of the workers of iniquity,

Psa 64:3

Who have sharpened their tongue like a sword.

They aimed bitter speech as their arrow,

Psa 64:4

To shoot [fn]from places of hiding at the blameless;

Suddenly they shoot at him, and do not fear.

Psa 64:5

They [fn]hold fast to themselves an evil purpose;

They [fn]talk of laying snares secretly;

They say, “Who can see them?”

Psa 64:6

They searched out unrighteousness, saying,

“We have completed a diligent search”;

For the [fn]inward thought of a man and his heart are [fn]deep.

Psa 64:7

But God [fn]will shoot them with an arrow;

Suddenly they will be wounded.

Psa 64:8

So [fn]they will cause their own tongue to turn against them;

All who see them will shake their head.

Psa 64:9

Then all men [fn]will fear,

And they [fn]will declare the work of God,

And [fn]will consider [fn]what He has done.

Psa 64:10

The righteous man will be glad in Yahweh and will take refuge in Him;

And all the upright in heart will boast.
