Psalm 60 :: Legacy Standard Bible (LSB)

Through God We Shall Do Valiantly

Psa 60:1

For the choir director. According to [fn]Shushan Eduth. A [fn]Mikhtam of David. For teaching. [fn]When he struggled with Aram-naharaim and with Aram-zobah, and Joab returned, and smote twelve thousand of Edom in the Valley of Salt.

O God, You have rejected us. You have [fn]broken us;

You have been angry; Oh, restore us.

Psa 60:2

You have made the [fn]land quake, You have split it open;

Heal its breaches, for it shakes.

Psa 60:3

You have caused Your people to see hardship;

You have given us [fn]wine to drink that causes reeling.

Psa 60:4

You have given a banner to those who fear You,

[fn]In order to flee to it from the bow. [fn]Selah.

Psa 60:5

That Your beloved may be rescued,

Save with Your right hand, and answer [fn]us!

Psa 60:6

God has spoken in His [fn]holiness:

“I will exult, I will portion out Shechem and measure out the valley of Succoth.

Psa 60:7

“Gilead is Mine, and Manasseh is Mine;

Ephraim also is the [fn]helmet of My head;

Judah is My [fn]scepter.

Psa 60:8

“Moab is My washbowl;

Over Edom I shall throw My shoe;

Make a loud shout, O Philistia, because of Me!”

Psa 60:9

Who will bring me into the fortified city?

Who [fn]will lead me to Edom?

Psa 60:10

Have You Yourself, O God, not rejected us?

And will You, O God, not go forth with our armies?

Psa 60:11

Oh give us help against the adversary,

For salvation [fn]by man is worthless.

Psa 60:12

[fn]Through God we shall do valiantly,

And it is He who will tread down our adversaries.
