Psalm 54 :: Legacy Standard Bible (LSB)

God Is My Helper

Psa 54:1

For the choir director. With stringed instruments. A [fn]Maskil of David. [fn]When the Ziphites came and said to Saul, “Is not David hiding himself among us?”

O God, save me by Your name,

And render justice to me by Your might.

Psa 54:2

O God, hear my prayer;

Give ear to the words of my mouth.

Psa 54:3

For strangers have risen against me

And ruthless men have sought my [fn]life;

They have not set God before them. [fn]Selah.

Psa 54:4

Behold, God is my helper;

The Lord is among those who sustain my soul.

Psa 54:5

He will return the evil to my foes;

Destroy them in Your truth.

Psa 54:6

With a freewill offering I will sacrifice to You;

I will give thanks to Your name, O Yahweh, for it is good.

Psa 54:7

For [fn]He has delivered me from all [fn]distress,

And my eye has looked in triumph upon my enemies.
