Psalm 53 :: Legacy Standard Bible (LSB)

There Is No One Who Does Good

Psa 53:1

For the choir director. According to [fn]Mahalath. A [fn]Maskil of David.

The wicked fool says in his heart, “There is no God,”

They act corruptly, and commit abominable injustice;

There is no one who does good.

Psa 53:2

God looks down from heaven upon the sons of men

To see if there is anyone who has insight,

Anyone who seeks after God.

Psa 53:3

Every one of them has turned back; together they have become [fn]worthless;

There is no one who does good, not even one.

Psa 53:4

Do the workers of iniquity not know,

Who eat up my people as they eat bread

And do not call upon God?

Psa 53:5

There they were in great dread where no dread had been;

For God scattered the bones of [fn]him who encamped against you;

You put them to shame, because God had rejected them.

Psa 53:6

Oh, that the salvation of Israel [fn]would come out of Zion!

When God [fn]restores His captive people,

[fn]May Jacob rejoice, may Israel be glad.
