Psalm 47 :: Legacy Standard Bible (LSB)

God Is King of All the Earth

Psa 47:1

For the choir director. Of the sons of Korah. A Psalm.

O clap your hands, all peoples;

Make a loud shout to God with the sound of a shout of [fn]joy.

Psa 47:2

For Yahweh Most High is [fn]fearsome,

A great King over all the earth.

Psa 47:3

He subdues peoples under us

And nations under our feet.

Psa 47:4

He chooses our inheritance for us,

The pride of Jacob whom He loves. [fn]Selah.

Psa 47:5

God has ascended [fn]with a loud shout,

Yahweh, [fn]with the sound of a trumpet.

Psa 47:6

Sing praises to God, sing praises;

Sing praises to our King, sing praises.

Psa 47:7

For God is the King of all the earth;

Sing praises with a [fn]skillful psalm.

Psa 47:8

God reigns over the nations,

God [fn]sits on His holy throne.

Psa 47:9

The nobles of the peoples have assembled themselves with the people of the God of Abraham,

For the shields of the earth belong to God;

He [fn]is highly exalted.
