Psalm 46 :: Legacy Standard Bible (LSB)

God Is Our Refuge and Strength

Psa 46:1

For the choir director. Of the sons of Korah. [fn]According to Alamoth. A Song.

God is our refuge and strength,

[fn]A very present help in [fn]trouble.

Psa 46:2

Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change

And though the mountains shake into the heart of the [fn]sea;

Psa 46:3

Though its waters roar and foam,

Though the mountains quake at its lofty pride. [fn]Selah.

Psa 46:4

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,

The holy dwelling places of the Most High.

Psa 46:5

God is in the midst of her, she will not be shaken;

God will help her [fn]when morning dawns.

Psa 46:6

The [fn]nations roar, the kingdoms shake;

He gives His voice, the earth melts.

Psa 46:7

Yahweh of hosts is with us;

The God of Jacob is our stronghold. Selah.

Psa 46:8

Come, behold the works of Yahweh,

[fn]Who has appointed desolations in the earth.

Psa 46:9

He makes wars to cease to the end of the earth;

He breaks the bow and cuts up the spear;

He burns the chariots with fire.

Psa 46:10

[fn]Cease striving and know that I am God;

I will be exalted among the [fn]nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

Psa 46:11

Yahweh of hosts is with us;

The God of Jacob is our stronghold. Selah.
