Psalm 4 :: Legacy Standard Bible (LSB)

Yahweh Makes Me Abide in Safety

Psa 4:1

[fn]For the choir director. With stringed instruments. A Psalm of David.

Answer me when I call, O God [fn]of my righteousness!

You have [fn]relieved me in my distress;

Be gracious to me and hear my prayer.

Psa 4:2

O sons of men, how long will my glory become a reproach?

How long will you love what is worthless and seek falsehood? [fn]Selah.

Psa 4:3

But know that Yahweh has [fn]set apart the holy one for Himself;

Yahweh hears when I call to Him.

Psa 4:4

[fn]Tremble, [fn]and do not sin;

[fn]Ponder in your heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.

Psa 4:5

Offer [fn]the sacrifices of righteousness,

And trust in Yahweh.

Psa 4:6

Many are saying, “Who will show us good?”

Lift up the light of Your face upon us, O Yahweh!

Psa 4:7

You have put gladness in my heart,

More than when their grain and new wine abound.

Psa 4:8

In peace I will [fn]both lie down and sleep,

For You alone, O Yahweh, make me to abide in safety.
