Psalm 132 :: Legacy Standard Bible (LSB)

Yahweh Has Chosen Zion

Psa 132:1

A Song of Ascents.

Remember, O Yahweh, on David’s behalf,

All his affliction;

Psa 132:2

How he swore to Yahweh

And vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob,

Psa 132:3

“Surely I will not come into [fn]my house,

Nor [fn]lie in the [fn]comfort of my bed;

Psa 132:4

I will not give sleep to my eyes

Or slumber to my eyelids,

Psa 132:5

Until I find a place for Yahweh,

[fn]A dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob.”

Psa 132:6

Behold, we heard of it in Ephrathah,

We found it in the fields of [fn]Jaar.

Psa 132:7

Let us come into His [fn]dwelling place;

Let us worship at the footstool of His feet.

Psa 132:8

Arise, O Yahweh, to Your resting place,

You and the ark of Your strength.

Psa 132:9

Let Your priests be clothed with righteousness,

And let Your holy ones sing for joy.

Psa 132:10

For the sake of David Your servant,

Do not turn away the face of Your anointed.

Psa 132:11

Yahweh has sworn to David

A truth from which He will not turn back:

“Of the fruit of your [fn]body I will set upon your throne.

Psa 132:12

“If your sons keep My covenant

And My testimony which I will teach them,

Their sons also shall sit upon your throne forever.”

Psa 132:13

For Yahweh has chosen Zion;

He has desired it for His habitation.

Psa 132:14

“This is My resting place forever;

Here I will inhabit, for I have desired it.

Psa 132:15

“I will abundantly bless her provision;

I will satisfy her needy with bread.

Psa 132:16

“Her priests also I will clothe with salvation,

And her holy ones will sing loudly for joy.

Psa 132:17

“There I will cause the horn of David to spring up;

I have prepared a lamp for Mine anointed.

Psa 132:18

“His enemies I will clothe with shame,

But upon him, his crown shall blossom.”
