When men ^H120 rose ^H6965 up ^H6965 against ^H5921 us,

Then ^H233 they would have swallowed ^H1104 us alive ^H2416,

When their anger ^H639 was kindled ^H2734 against us;

Then ^H233 the waters ^H4325 would have flowed ^H7857 over ^H7857 us,

The stream ^H5158 would have [fn]swept ^H5674 over ^H5921 our soul ^H5315;
