Psalm 106 :: Legacy Standard Bible (LSB)

Remember Me, O Yahweh

Psa 106:1

[fn]Praise Yah!

Oh give thanks to Yahweh, for He is good;

For His lovingkindness endures forever.

Psa 106:2

Who can speak of the mighty deeds of Yahweh,

Or can make all His praise to be heard?

Psa 106:3

How blessed are those who keep [fn]justice,

[fn]And he who does righteousness at all times!

Psa 106:4

Remember me, O Yahweh, in Your favor [fn]toward Your people;

Visit me with Your salvation,

Psa 106:5

That I may see the goodness of Your chosen ones,

That I may rejoice in the gladness of Your nation,

That I may boast with Your [fn]inheritance.

Psa 106:6

We have sinned with our fathers,

We have committed iniquity, we have acted wickedly.

Psa 106:7

Our fathers in Egypt did not consider Your wondrous deeds;

They did not remember Your abundant lovingkindnesses,

But they rebelled by the sea, at the [fn]Red Sea.

Psa 106:8

Yet He saved them for the sake of His name,

That He might make His might known.

Psa 106:9

Thus He rebuked the [fn]Red Sea and it dried up,

And He led them through the deeps, as through the wilderness.

Psa 106:10

So He saved them from the [fn]hand of the one who hated them,

And redeemed them from the [fn]hand of the enemy.

Psa 106:11

The waters covered their adversaries;

Not one of them was left.

Psa 106:12

Then they believed His words;

They sang His praise.

Psa 106:13

They quickly forgot His works;

They did not wait for His counsel,

Psa 106:14

But craved intensely in the wilderness,

And put God to the test in the wasteland.

Psa 106:15

So He gave them their request,

But sent a [fn]wasting disease against their lives.

Psa 106:16

Then they became envious of Moses in the camp,

And of Aaron, the holy one of Yahweh,

Psa 106:17

The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan,

And covered up the [fn]company of Abiram.

Psa 106:18

And a fire burned up in their company;

The flame consumed the wicked.

Psa 106:19

They made a calf in Horeb

And worshiped a molten image.

Psa 106:20

Thus they exchanged their glory

For the image of an ox that eats grass.

Psa 106:21

They forgot God their Savior,

Who had done great things in Egypt,

Psa 106:22

Wondrous deeds in the land of Ham

And awesome things by the [fn]Red Sea.

Psa 106:23

Therefore He said that He would destroy them,

Had not Moses His chosen one stood in the breach before Him,

To turn away His wrath from [fn]eradicating them.

Psa 106:24

Then they despised the pleasant land;

They did not believe in His word,

Psa 106:25

But grumbled in their tents;

They did not listen to the voice of Yahweh.

Psa 106:26

So He [fn]swore to them

To make them fall in the wilderness,

Psa 106:27

And to make their seed fall among the nations

And to scatter them in the lands.

Psa 106:28

They then joined themselves to [fn]Baal-peor,

And ate sacrifices offered to the dead.

Psa 106:29

Thus they provoked Him to anger with their actions,

And the plague broke out among them.

Psa 106:30

Then Phinehas stood up and interceded,

And so the plague was checked.

Psa 106:31

And it was counted to him for righteousness,

From generation to generation forever.

Psa 106:32

They also provoked Him to wrath at the waters of [fn]Meribah,

So that it went badly with Moses on their account;

Psa 106:33

Because they were rebellious against [fn]His Spirit,

He spoke rashly with his lips.

Psa 106:34

They did not destroy the peoples,

As Yahweh commanded them,

Psa 106:35

But they mingled with the nations

And learned their works,

Psa 106:36

And served their idols,

Which became a snare to them.

Psa 106:37

They sacrificed their sons and their daughters to the demons,

Psa 106:38

And they shed innocent blood,

The blood of their sons and their daughters,

Whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan;

And the land was polluted with the blood.

Psa 106:39

Thus they became unclean in their works,

And played the harlot in their actions.

Psa 106:40

So the anger of Yahweh was kindled against His people

And He abhorred His [fn]inheritance.

Psa 106:41

Then He gave them into the hand of the [fn]nations,

And those who hated them ruled over them.

Psa 106:42

Their enemies oppressed them,

And they were subdued under their hand.

Psa 106:43

Many times He would deliver them;

But they were rebellious in their counsel,

And so they sank down in their iniquity.

Psa 106:44

Nevertheless He looked upon their distress

When He heard their cry of lamentation;

Psa 106:45

And He remembered for them His covenant,

And [fn]relented according to the abundance of His lovingkindness.

Psa 106:46

He also made them objects of compassion

In the presence of all their captors.

Psa 106:47

Save us, O Yahweh our God,

And gather us from among the nations,

To give thanks to Your holy name

And revel in Your praise.

Psa 106:48

Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Israel,

From everlasting to everlasting.

And let all the people say, “Amen.”

[fn]Praise Yah!
