Apportioning Canaan

Then Yahweh^H3068 spoke^H1696 to Moses^H4872, saying^H559,

Num 34:2“Command the sons of Israel and say to them, ‘When you enter the land of Canaan, this is the land that shall fall to you as an inheritance, even the land of Canaan according to its borders.

Num 34:3

Num 34:3‘And your southern [fn]sector shall [fn]extend from the wilderness of Zin along the side of Edom, and your southern border shall [fn]extend from the end of the Salt Sea eastward.

Num 34:4

Num 34:4‘Then your border shall turn from the south to the ascent of Akrabbim and [fn]continue to Zin, and its [fn]termination shall be to the south of Kadesh-barnea; and it shall [fn]reach Hazaraddar and [fn]continue to Azmon.

Num 34:5

Num 34:5‘And the border shall turn from Azmon to the brook of Egypt, and its termination shall be at the sea.

Num 34:6

‘And as for the west^H3220 border^H1366, you shall have^H1961 the Great^H1419 Sea^H3220, that is, its [fn]coastline^H1366; this^H2088 shall be your west^H3220 border^H1366.

Num 34:7

‘And this^H2088 shall be your north^H6828 border^H1366: you shall draw^H8376 your border line^H8376 from the Great^H1419 Sea^H3220 to Mount^H2022 Hor^H2023.

Num 34:8

Num 34:8‘You shall draw a line from Mount Hor to [fn]Lebo-hamath, and the termination of the border shall be at Zedad;

Num 34:9

Num 34:9and the border shall proceed to Ziphron, and its termination shall be at Hazar-enan. This shall be your north border.

Num 34:10

‘For your east^H6924 border^H1366 you shall also draw^H8376 a^H8376 line^H8376 from Hazar-enan^H2704 to Shepham^H8221,

Num 34:11

Num 34:11and the border shall go down from Shepham to Riblah on the east side of Ain; and the border shall go down and reach to the [fn]slope on the east side of the Sea of [fn]Chinnereth.

Num 34:12

Num 34:12‘And the border shall go down to the Jordan, and its termination shall be at the Salt Sea. This shall be your land according to its borders all around.’”

Num 34:13

So Moses^H4872 commanded^H6680 the sons^H1121 of Israel^H3478, saying^H559, “This^H2088 is the land^H776 that you shall inherit^H5157 by lot^H1486 among you as^H5157 a^H5157 possession^H5157, which^H834 Yahweh^H3068 has commanded^H6680 to give^H5414 to the nine^H8672 and a half^H2677 tribes^H4294.

Num 34:14

Num 34:14“For the tribe of the sons of Reuben have received theirs according to their fathers’ households, and the tribe of the sons of Gad according to their fathers’ households, and the half-tribe of Manasseh have received their inheritance.

Num 34:15

Num 34:15“The two and a half tribes have received their inheritance across the Jordan opposite Jericho to the east toward the sunrise.”

Num 34:16

Then Yahweh^H3068 spoke^H1696 to Moses^H4872, saying^H559,

Num 34:17

Num 34:17“These are the names of the men who shall apportion the land to you for inheritance: Eleazar the priest and Joshua the son of Nun.

Num 34:18

Num 34:18“And you shall take one leader of every tribe to apportion the land for inheritance.

Num 34:19

Num 34:19“Now these are the names of the men:

Of the tribe^H4294 of Judah^H3063, Caleb^H3612 the son^H1121 of Jephunneh^H3312.

Num 34:20

“Of the tribe^H4294 of the sons^H1121 of Simeon^H8095, Samuel^H8050 the son^H1121 of Ammihud^H5989.

Num 34:21

“Of the tribe^H4294 of Benjamin^H1144, Elidad^H449 the son^H1121 of Chislon^H3692.

Num 34:22

“Of the tribe^H4294 of the sons^H1121 of Dan^H1835 a leader^H5387, Bukki^H1231 the son^H1121 of Jogli^H3020.

Num 34:23

“Of the sons^H1121 of Joseph^H3130: of the tribe^H4294 of the sons^H1121 of Manasseh^H4519 a leader^H5387, Hanniel^H2592 the son^H1121 of Ephod^H641.

Num 34:24

“Of the tribe^H4294 of the sons^H1121 of Ephraim^H669 a leader^H5387, Kemuel^H7055 the son^H1121 of Shiphtan^H8204.

Num 34:25

“Of the tribe^H4294 of the sons^H1121 of Zebulun^H2074 a leader^H5387, Elizaphan^H469 the son^H1121 of Parnach^H6535.

Num 34:26

“Of the tribe^H4294 of the sons^H1121 of Issachar^H3485 a leader^H5387, Paltiel^H6409 the son^H1121 of Azzan^H5821.

Num 34:27

“Of the tribe^H4294 of the sons^H1121 of Asher^H836 a leader^H5387, Ahihud^H282 the son^H1121 of Shelomi^H8015.

Num 34:28

“Of the tribe^H4294 of the sons^H1121 of Naphtali^H5321 a leader^H5387, Pedahel^H6300 the son^H1121 of Ammihud^H5989.”

Num 34:29

These^H428 are those whom^H834 Yahweh^H3068 commanded^H6680 to apportion^H5157 the inheritance^H5157 to the sons^H1121 of Israel^H3478 in the land^H776 of Canaan^H3667.
