Signs of Christ’s Return

Mar 13:2

Mar 13:2And Jesus said to him, “Do you see these great buildings? Not one stone will be left upon another which will not be torn down.”

Mar 13:3

Mar 13:4

Mar 13:4“Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the [fn]sign when all these things are going to be fulfilled?”

Mar 13:5

Mar 13:5And Jesus began to say to them, “See to it that no one deceives you.

Mar 13:6

Mar 13:6“Many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He!’ and will mislead many.

Mar 13:7

Mar 13:7“And when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed; those things must take place; but that is not yet the end.

Mar 13:8

Mar 13:8“For nation will rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; there will be earthquakes in various places; there will also be famines. These things are merely the beginning of birth pains.

Mar 13:9

“But see to yourselves^G991; for they will deliver^G3860 you to the [fn]courts^G4892, and you will be beaten^G1194 in the synagogues^G4864, and you will stand^G2476 before^G1909 governors^G2232 and kings^G935 for My sake^G6025, as a witness^G3142 to them.

Mar 13:10

Mar 13:10“And the gospel must first be proclaimed to all the nations.

Mar 13:11

Mar 13:11“And when they lead you away, delivering you up, do not worry beforehand about what you are to say, but say whatever is given to you in that hour; for it is not you who speak, but it is the Holy Spirit.

Mar 13:12

Mar 13:12“And brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and [fn]have them put to death.

Mar 13:13

Mar 13:13“And you will be hated by all because of My name, but the one who endures to the end, he will be saved.

The Abomination of Desolation and the Tribulation

(Mat 24:15–28; Luk 21:20–24 )

Mar 13:14

“But when^G3752 you see^G3708 the ABOMINATION^G946 OF DESOLATION^G2050 standing^G2476 where^G3699 it should^G1163 not be (let the reader^G314 understand^G3539), then^G5119 those^G3588 who^G3588 are in Judea^G2449 must flee^G5343 to the mountains^G3735.

Mar 13:15

Mar 13:15“And the one who is on the housetop must not go down, or go in to get anything out of his house;

Mar 13:16

Mar 13:16and the one who is in the field must not turn back to get his garment.

Mar 13:17

Mar 13:17“But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days!

Mar 13:18

Mar 13:18“But pray that it may not happen in the winter.

Mar 13:19

Mar 13:19“For those days will be a time of tribulation such as has not occurred since the beginning of the creation which God created until now, and never will.

Mar 13:20

Mar 13:20“And unless the Lord had shortened those days, no [fn]life would have been saved; but for the sake of the [fn]elect, whom He chose, He shortened the days.

Mar 13:21

Mar 13:21“And then if anyone says to you, ‘Behold, here is the [fn]Christ’; or, ‘Behold, He is there’; do not believe him;

Mar 13:22

Mar 13:22for false christs and false prophets will arise, and will show [fn]signs and wonders, in order to lead astray, if possible, the elect.

Mar 13:23

Mar 13:23“But as for you, see! I have told you everything in advance.

The Coming of the Son of Man

Mar 13:24

Mar 13:25

Mar 13:25AND THE STARS WILL BE FALLING from heaven, AND THE POWERS THAT ARE IN [fn]THE HEAVENS will be shaken.

Mar 13:26

Mar 13:26“And then they will see THE SON OF MAN COMING IN CLOUDS with great power and glory.

Mar 13:27

Mar 13:27“And then He will send forth the angels, and will gather together His [fn]elect from the four winds, from the farthest end of the earth to the farthest end of heaven.

The Parable of the Fig Tree

(Mat 24:32–35; Luk 21:29–33 )

Mar 13:29

Mar 13:29“Even so, you too, when you see these things happening, [fn]recognize that [fn]He is near, right at the [fn]door.

Mar 13:30

Mar 13:30“Truly I say to you, this [fn]generation will not pass away until all these things take place.

Mar 13:31“Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.

Mar 13:34“It is like a man away on a journey, who, leaving his house and giving authority to his slaves—each one his task, also commanded the doorkeeper to stay awake.

Mar 13:35

Mar 13:35“Therefore, stay awake—for you do not know when the [fn]master of the house is coming, whether in the evening, at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning—

Mar 13:36

Mar 13:36lest he come suddenly and find you sleeping.
