I Will Curse Your Blessings

“And now^H6258 this^H2088 commandment^H4687 is for you, O priests^H3548.

Mal 2:2“If you do not listen, and if you do not set it upon your heart to give [fn]honor to My name,” says Yahweh of hosts, “then I will send the curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings; and indeed, I have cursed them already because you are not setting it upon your heart.

Mal 2:3

Mal 2:3“Behold, I am going to rebuke your seed, and I will spread [fn]refuse on your faces, the [fn]refuse of your feasts; and you will be taken away [fn]with it.

Mal 2:4

Mal 2:4“Then you will know that I have sent this commandment to you, [fn]that My covenant may [fn]continue with Levi,” says Yahweh of hosts.

Mal 2:5

Mal 2:5“My covenant with him was one of life and peace, and I gave them to him as something to be [fn]feared; so he feared Me and stood in [fn]awe of My name.

Mal 2:6

Mal 2:6“[fn]Instruction of truth was in his mouth, and unrighteousness was not found on his lips; he walked with Me in peace and uprightness, and he turned many back from iniquity.

Mal 2:7

Mal 2:7“For the lips of a priest should keep knowledge, and [fn]men should seek [fn]instruction from his mouth; for he is the messenger of Yahweh of hosts.

Mal 2:8

Mal 2:8“But as for you, you have turned aside from the way; you have caused many to stumble [fn]by the instruction; you have [fn]corrupted the covenant of Levi,” says Yahweh of hosts.

Mal 2:9

Mal 2:9“So I also have made you despised and low [fn]before all the people, just as you are not keeping My ways but are showing partiality in the [fn]instruction.

Judah Profaned the Covenant

Mal 2:10

“Do we not all^H3605 have one^H259 father^H1? Has not one^H259 God^H410 created^H1254 us? Why^H4069 do we deal^H898 treacherously^H898 each^H376 against his brother^H251 so as to profane^H2490 the covenant^H1285 of our fathers^H1?

Mal 2:11

Mal 2:11“Judah has dealt treacherously, and an abomination has been done in Israel and in Jerusalem; for Judah has profaned the sanctuary of Yahweh [fn]which He loves and has married the daughter of a foreign god.

Mal 2:12

Mal 2:12“As for the man who does this, may Yahweh cut off from the tents of Jacob everyone who awakes and answers or who presents [fn]an offering to Yahweh of hosts.

Mal 2:13

“And this^H2088 is a second^H8145 thing^H8145 you do^H6213: you cover^H3680 the altar^H4196 of Yahweh^H3068 with tears^H1832, with weeping^H1065, and with groaning^H603 because^H4480 He no^H369 longer^H5750 regards^H6437 the [fn]offering^H4503 or receives^H3947 it as acceptable^H7522 from your hand^H3027.

Mal 2:14

Mal 2:14“But you say, ‘For what reason?’ Because Yahweh has been a witness between you and the wife of your youth, against whom you have dealt treacherously, though she is your companion and your wife by covenant.

Mal 2:15

Mal 2:15“[fn]But not one has done so, even one who has a remnant of the Spirit. And [fn]what did that one do while he was seeking a godly seed? Be careful then to keep your spirit, and let no one deal treacherously against the wife of your youth.

Mal 2:16

Mal 2:16“For [fn]I hate [fn]divorce,” says Yahweh, the God of Israel, “and [fn]him who covers his garment with [fn]wrong,” says Yahweh of hosts. “Be careful then to keep your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously.”

Mal 2:17

You have wearied^H3021 Yahweh^H3068 with your words^H1697. But you say^H559, “How^H4100 have we wearied^H3021 Him?” In that you say^H559, “Everyone^H3605 who does^H6213 evil^H7451 is good^H2896 in the sight^H5869 of Yahweh^H3068, and He delights^H2654 in them,” or^H176, “Where^H346 is the God^H430 of justice^H4941?”
