Zaccheus Is Saved

And He entered^G1525 Jericho^G2410 and was passing^G1330 through^G1330.

Luk 19:2And behold, there was a man called by the name of Zaccheus; he was a chief tax collector and he was rich.

Luk 19:3And Zaccheus was trying to see who Jesus was, and was unable because of the crowd, for he was small in stature.

Luk 19:4So he ran on before and climbed up into a [fn]sycamore tree in order to see Him, for He was about to pass through that way.

Luk 19:5

Luk 19:5And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and said to him, “Zaccheus, hurry and come down, for today I must stay at your house.”

Luk 19:6

Luk 19:6And he hurried and came down and received Him [fn]gladly.

Luk 19:7

Luk 19:7And when they saw it, they all began to grumble, saying, “He has gone [fn]to be the guest of a man who is a sinner.”

Luk 19:8

Luk 19:8But Zaccheus stopped and said to the Lord, “Behold, half of my possessions, Lord, I [fn]will give to the poor, and if I have extorted anyone of anything, I [fn]will give back four times as much.”

Luk 19:9

Luk 19:9And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because he, too, is a son of Abraham.

Luk 19:10

Luk 19:10“For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save the lost.”

Parable of the Ten Minas

(Mat 25:14–30 )

Luk 19:11

Now while they were listening^G191 to these^G3778 things^G3778, Jesus went^G4369 on^G4369 to tell^G3004 a parable^G3850, because^G1223 He was near^G1451 Jerusalem^G2419, and they thought^G1380 that the kingdom^G932 of God^G2316 was^G3195 going^G3195 to^G3195 appear^G398 immediately^G3916.

Luk 19:12

Luk 19:12So He said, “A nobleman went to a distant country to receive a kingdom for himself, and then return.

Luk 19:13

Luk 19:13“And he called ten of his slaves, and gave them ten [fn]minas and said to them, ‘Engage in business [fn]until I come back.’

Luk 19:14

Luk 19:14“But his citizens hated him and sent [fn]a delegation after him, saying, ‘We do not want this man to reign over us.’

Luk 19:15

Luk 19:15“And it happened that when he returned, after receiving the kingdom, he ordered that these slaves, to whom he had given the money, be called to him so that he might know how much they had made in business.

Luk 19:16

Luk 19:16“So the first appeared, saying, ‘[fn]Master, your [fn]mina has made ten minas more.’

Luk 19:17

Luk 19:17“And he said to him, ‘Well done, good slave, because you have been faithful in a very little thing, you are to be in authority over ten cities.’

Luk 19:18

Luk 19:18“Then the second came, saying, ‘Your [fn]mina, [fn]master, has made five minas.’

Luk 19:19

Luk 19:19“And he said to him also, ‘And you are to be over five cities.’

Luk 19:20

Luk 19:20“Then another came, saying, ‘Master, here is your mina, which I kept put away in a cloth;

Luk 19:21

Luk 19:21for I was afraid of you, because you are a strict man; you take up what you did not lay down and reap what you did not sow.’

Luk 19:22

Luk 19:22“He *said to him, ‘From your own mouth I will judge you, you worthless slave. Did you know that I am a strict man, taking up what I did not lay down and reaping what I did not sow?

Luk 19:23

Luk 19:23‘Then why did you not put my money in the bank, and having come, I would have collected it with interest?’

Luk 19:24

Luk 19:24“Then he said to the bystanders, ‘Take the mina away from him and give it to the one who has the ten minas.’

Luk 19:25

Luk 19:25“And they said to him, ‘Master, he has ten minas already.’

Luk 19:26

Luk 19:26‘I tell you that to everyone who has, more shall be given, but from the one who does not have, even what he does have shall be taken away.

Luk 19:27

Luk 19:27‘But these enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and slay them in my presence.’”

The Triumphal Entry

Luk 19:28

Luk 19:29

And^G2532 it happened^G1096 that when^G5613 He approached^G1448 Bethphage^G967 and Bethany^G963, near^G4314 the mount^G3735 called^G2564 “of Olives^G1638,” He sent^G649 two^G1417 of the disciples^G3101,

Luk 19:30

Luk 19:30saying, “Go into the village ahead of you; in which, as you enter, you will find a colt tied, on which no one yet has ever sat; untie it and bring it here.

Luk 19:31

Luk 19:31“And if anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ you shall say this: ‘Because the Lord has need of it.’”

Luk 19:32

Luk 19:32So when those who were sent departed, they found it just as He had told them.

Luk 19:33

Luk 19:33And as they were untying the colt, its [fn]owners said to them, “Why are you untying the colt?”

Luk 19:34

Luk 19:34And they said, “The Lord has need of it.”

Luk 19:35

Luk 19:35And they brought it to Jesus, and after they threw their garments on the colt, they put Jesus on it.

Luk 19:36

Luk 19:36And as He was going, they were spreading their garments on the road.

Luk 19:37

Luk 19:37Now as soon as He was approaching, near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to praise God, rejoicing with a loud voice for all the [fn]miracles which they had seen,

Luk 19:38

Luk 19:38saying,

“BLESSED^G2127 IS THE KING^G935 WHO COMES^G2064 IN THE NAME^G3686 OF THE [fn]LORD^G2962.

Peace^G1515 in heaven^G3772 and glory^G1391 in the highest^G5310!”

Luk 19:39

And some^G5100 of the Pharisees^G5330 [fn]in the crowd^G3793 said^G3004 to Him, “Teacher^G1320, rebuke^G2008 Your disciples^G3101.”

Luk 19:40

Luk 19:40But Jesus answered and said, “I tell you, if these were silent, the stones will cry out!”

Lament over Jerusalem

Luk 19:41

And as^G5613 He approached^G1448 Jerusalem and saw^G3708 the city^G4172, He cried^G2799 over^G1909 it,

Luk 19:42

Luk 19:42saying, “If you knew in this day, even you, the things which make for peace! But now they have been hidden from your eyes.

Luk 19:43

Luk 19:43“For the days will come upon you [fn]when your enemies will throw up a [fn]barricade against you, and surround you and hem you in on every side,

Luk 19:44

Luk 19:44and they will level you to the ground and your children within you, and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not [fn]recognize the time of your visitation.”

Jesus Drives Merchants from the Temple

Luk 19:45

And Jesus entered^G1525 the temple^G2413 and began^G757 to drive^G1544 out^G1544 those^G3588 who were selling^G4453,

Luk 19:46

Luk 19:46saying to them, “It is written, ‘AND MY HOUSE SHALL BE A HOUSE OF PRAYER,’ but you have made it a ROBBERS’ [fn]DEN.”

Luk 19:47

And He was teaching^G1321 daily^G2596^G2250 in the temple^G2413, but the chief^G749 priests^G749 and the scribes^G1122 and the leading^G4413 men^G4413 among the people^G2992 were trying^G2212 to destroy^G622 Him,
