Aaron Brings Offerings

Now it happened^H1961 on the eighth^H8066 day^H3117 that Moses^H4872 called^H7121 Aaron^H175 and his sons^H1121 and the elders^H2205 of Israel^H3478;

Lev 9:2

Lev 9:2and he said to Aaron, “Take for yourself a calf, a bull, for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering, both without blemish, and bring them near before Yahweh.

Lev 9:3

Lev 9:3“Then to the sons of Israel you shall speak, saying, ‘Take a male goat for a sin offering, and a calf and a lamb, both one year old, without blemish, for a burnt offering,

Lev 9:4

Lev 9:4and an ox and a ram for peace offerings, to sacrifice before Yahweh, and a grain offering mixed with oil; for today Yahweh will appear to you.’”

Lev 9:5

Lev 9:5So they took what Moses had commanded to the front of the tent of meeting, and the whole congregation came near and stood before Yahweh.

Lev 9:6

Lev 9:6And Moses said, “This is the thing which Yahweh has commanded you to do, that the glory of Yahweh may appear to you.”

Lev 9:7

Lev 9:7Moses then said to Aaron, “Come near to the altar and offer your sin offering and your burnt offering, that you may make atonement for yourself and for the people; then offer the offering [fn]for the people, that you may make atonement for them, just as Yahweh has commanded.”

Lev 9:8

So Aaron^H175 came^H7126 near^H7126 to the altar^H4196 and slaughtered^H7819 the calf^H5695 of the sin^H2403 offering^H2403 which^H834 was for himself.

Lev 9:9

Lev 9:9Then Aaron’s sons brought the blood near to him; and he dipped his finger in the blood and put some on the horns of the altar and poured out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar.

Lev 9:10

Lev 9:10The fat and the kidneys and the [fn]lobe of the liver of the sin offering he then offered up in smoke on the altar just as Yahweh had commanded Moses.

Lev 9:11

Lev 9:11The flesh and the skin, however, he burned with fire outside the camp.

Lev 9:12

Then he slaughtered^H7819 the burnt^H5930 offering^H5930; and Aaron’s^H175 sons^H1121 handed^H4672 the blood^H1818 to him, and he splashed^H2236 it around^H5439 on the altar^H4196.

Lev 9:13

Lev 9:13And they handed the burnt offering to him in [fn]pieces, with the head, and he offered them up in smoke on the altar.

Lev 9:14

Lev 9:14He also washed the entrails and the legs and offered them up in smoke with the burnt offering on the altar.

Lev 9:15

Then he brought^H7126 near^H7126 the people’s^H5971 offering^H7133 and took^H3947 the goat^H5795 of the sin^H2403 offering^H2403 which^H834 was for the people^H5971 and slaughtered^H7819 it and offered^H2398 it for^H2398 sin^H2398, like the first^H7223.

Lev 9:16

Lev 9:16He also brought near the burnt offering and [fn]offered it according to the legal judgment.

Lev 9:17

Lev 9:17Next he brought near the grain offering and filled his [fn]hand with some of it and offered it up in smoke on the altar, besides the burnt offering of the morning.

Lev 9:18

Then he slaughtered^H7819 the ox^H7794 and the ram^H352, the sacrifice^H2077 of peace^H8002 offerings^H8002 which^H834 was for the people^H5971; and Aaron’s^H175 sons^H1121 handed^H4672 the blood^H1818 to him, and he splashed^H2236 it around^H5439 on the altar^H4196.

Lev 9:19

Lev 9:19As for the portions of fat from the ox and from the ram, the fat tail and the fat covering and the kidneys and the [fn]lobe of the liver,

Lev 9:20

Lev 9:20they now placed the portions of fat on the breasts; and he offered [fn]them up in smoke on the altar.

Lev 9:21

Lev 9:21But the breasts and the right thigh Aaron waved as a wave offering before Yahweh, just as Moses had commanded.

Lev 9:22

Then Aaron^H175 lifted^H5375 up^H5375 his hands^H3027 toward^H413 the people^H5971 and blessed^H1288 them, and he stepped^H3381 down^H3381 after offering^H6213 the sin^H2403 offering^H2403 and the burnt^H5930 offering^H5930 and the peace^H8002 offerings^H8002.

Lev 9:23

Lev 9:23And Moses and Aaron went into the tent of meeting. Then they came out and blessed the people. And the glory of Yahweh appeared to all the people.

Lev 9:24

Lev 9:24Then fire came out from before Yahweh and consumed the burnt offering and the portions of fat on the altar. And all the people saw it and shouted and fell on their faces.
