Set Yourselves Apart as Holy

Then Yahweh^H3068 spoke^H1696 to Moses^H4872, saying^H559,

Lev 20:2“You shall also say to the sons of Israel:

‘Any^H376 man^H376 from the sons^H1121 of Israel^H3478 or from the sojourners^H1616 sojourning^H1481 in Israel^H3478 who^H834 gives^H5414 any^H4480 of his seed^H2233 to Molech^H4432 shall surely^H4191 be put^H4191 to death^H4191; the people^H5971 of the land^H776 shall stone^H7275 him with stones^H68.

Lev 20:3

Lev 20:3‘I will also set My face against that man and will cut him off from among his people because he has given some of those who are his seed to Molech, so as to defile My sanctuary and to profane My holy name.

Lev 20:4

Lev 20:4‘If the people of the land, however, [fn]should ever turn a blind eye to that man when he gives any of those who are his seed to Molech, so as not to put him to death,

Lev 20:5

Lev 20:5then I Myself will set My face against that man and against his family, and I will cut off from among their people both him and all those who play the harlot after him, in playing the harlot after Molech.

Lev 20:6

‘As for the person^H5315 who^H834 turns^H6437 to [fn]mediums^H178 and to spiritists^H3049, to play^H2181 the^H2181 harlot^H2181 after^H310 them, I will also set^H5414 My face^H6440 against that person^H5315 and will cut^H3772 him off^H3772 from among^H7130 his people^H5971.

Lev 20:7

Lev 20:7‘Therefore, you shall set yourselves apart as holy and be holy, for I am Yahweh your God.

Lev 20:8

Lev 20:8‘And you shall keep My statutes and do them; I am Yahweh who makes you holy.

Lev 20:9

‘If^H3588 there is anyone^H376 who^H834 curses^H7043 his father^H1 or his mother^H517, he shall surely^H4191 be put^H4191 to^H4191 death^H4191; he has cursed^H7043 his father^H1 or his mother^H517. His bloodguiltiness^H1818 is upon him.

Lev 20:10

‘If there is a man^H376 who^H834 commits^H5003 adultery^H5003 with another man’s^H376 wife^H802, one who^H834 commits^H5003 adultery^H5003 with his friend’s^H7453 wife^H802, the adulterer^H5003 and the adulteress^H5003 shall surely^H4191 be put^H4191 to^H4191 death^H4191.

Lev 20:11

Lev 20:11‘If there is a man who lies with his father’s wife, he has uncovered his father’s nakedness; both of them shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltiness is upon them.

Lev 20:12

Lev 20:12‘If there is a man who lies with his daughter-in-law, both of them shall surely be put to death; they have committed [fn]perversion. Their bloodguiltiness is upon them.

Lev 20:13

Lev 20:13‘If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltiness is upon them.

Lev 20:14

Lev 20:14‘If there is a man who [fn]marries a woman and her mother, it is lewdness; both he and they shall be burned with fire so that there will be no lewdness in your midst.

Lev 20:15

Lev 20:15‘If there is a man who lies with an animal, he shall surely be put to death; you shall also kill the animal.

Lev 20:16

Lev 20:16‘If there is a woman who approaches any animal to [fn]mate with it, you shall kill the woman and the animal; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltiness is upon them.

Lev 20:17

‘If there is a man^H376 who^H834 takes^H3947 his sister^H269, his father’s^H1 daughter^H1323, or^H176 his mother’s^H517 daughter^H1323, so that he sees^H7200 her nakedness^H6172 and she sees^H7200 his nakedness^H6172, it is a disgrace^H2617; and they shall be cut^H3772 off^H3772 in the sight^H5869 of the sons^H1121 of their people^H5971. He has uncovered^H1540 his sister’s^H269 nakedness^H6172; he bears^H5375 his guilt^H5771.

Lev 20:18

Lev 20:18‘If there is a man who lies with a [fn]menstruous woman and uncovers her nakedness, he has laid bare her flow, and she has uncovered the flow of her blood; thus both of them shall be cut off from among their people.

Lev 20:19

Lev 20:19‘You shall also not uncover the nakedness of your mother’s sister or of your father’s sister, for such a one has made naked his [fn]blood relative; they will bear their guilt.

Lev 20:20

Lev 20:20‘If there is a man who lies with his aunt, he has uncovered his uncle’s nakedness; they will bear their sin. They will die childless.

Lev 20:21

Lev 20:21‘If there is a man who takes his brother’s wife, it is an [fn]impure act; he has uncovered his brother’s nakedness. They will be childless.

Lev 20:22

‘You shall therefore keep^H8104 all^H3605 My statutes^H2708 and all^H3605 My judgments^H4941 and do^H6213 them, so that the land^H776 to which^H834 I am bringing^H935 you to [fn]inhabit^H3427 will not vomit^H6958 you out^H6958.

Lev 20:23

Lev 20:23‘Moreover, you shall not walk in the statutes of the nation which I will cast out before you, for they did all these things, and therefore I have loathed them.

Lev 20:24

Lev 20:24‘Hence I have said to you, “You yourselves shall possess their land, and I Myself will give it to you to possess it, a land flowing with milk and honey.” I am Yahweh your God, who has separated you from the peoples.

Lev 20:25

Lev 20:25‘You are therefore to separate between the clean animal and the unclean, and between the unclean bird and the clean; and you shall not make [fn]yourselves detestable by animal or by bird or by anything [fn]that creeps on the ground, which I have separated for you as unclean.

Lev 20:26

Lev 20:26‘Thus you shall be holy to Me, for I Yahweh am holy; and I have separated you from the peoples to be Mine.

Lev 20:27

‘Now a man^H376 or^H176 a woman^H802 who is a medium^H178 or^H176 a [fn]spiritist^H3049 shall surely^H4191 be put^H4191 to^H4191 death^H4191. They shall be stoned^H7275 with stones^H68. Their bloodguiltiness^H1818 is upon them.’”
