The Kings of the East Struck Down

(cf. Num 21:21–35 )

Now these^H428 are the kings^H4428 of the land^H776 whom^H834 the sons^H1121 of Israel^H3478 struck^H5221 down^H5221, and whose land^H776 they possessed^H3423 beyond^H5676 the Jordan^H3383 to the east toward the sunrise^H4217^H8121, from the valley^H5158 of the Arnon^H769 as far^H5704 as Mount^H2022 Hermon^H2768, and all^H3605 the Arabah^H6160 to the east^H4217:

Jos 12:2

Jos 12:2Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived in Heshbon and ruled from Aroer, which is on the edge of the valley of the Arnon, both the middle of the valley and half of Gilead, even as far as the brook Jabbok, the border of the sons of Ammon;

Jos 12:3

Jos 12:3and the Arabah as far as the Sea of [fn]Chinneroth toward the east, and as far as the sea of the Arabah, even the Salt Sea, eastward [fn]toward Beth-jeshimoth, and on the south, [fn]at the foot of the slopes of Pisgah;

Jos 12:4and the territory of Og king of Bashan, one of the remnant of the Rephaim, who lived at Ashtaroth and at Edrei

Jos 12:5

Jos 12:5and ruled over Mount Hermon and Salecah and all Bashan, as far as the border of the Geshurites and the Maacathites, and half of Gilead, as far as the border of Sihon king of Heshbon.

Jos 12:6

Jos 12:6Moses the servant of Yahweh and the sons of Israel struck them down; and Moses the servant of Yahweh gave it to the Reubenites and the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh as a possession.

The Kings of the West Struck Down

Jos 12:7

Now these^H428 are the kings^H4428 of the land^H776 whom^H834 Joshua^H3091 and the sons^H1121 of Israel^H3478 struck^H5221 down^H5221 beyond^H5676 the Jordan^H3383 toward the west^H3220, from Baal-gad^H1171 in the valley^H1237 of Lebanon^H3844 even as far^H5704 as Mount^H2022 Halak^H2510, which rises^H5927 toward Seir^H8165; and Joshua^H3091 gave^H5414 it to the tribes^H7626 of Israel^H3478 as a possession^H3425 according to their divisions^H4256,

Jos 12:8in the hill country and in the [fn]Shephelah and in the Arabah and on the slopes and in the wilderness and in the [fn]Negev; the Hittite, the Amorite and the Canaanite, the Perizzite, the Hivite and the Jebusite:
