Job 7:1
“[fn]Is not man H582 conscripted H6635 to H6635 labor H6635 on earth H776,
And are not his days H3117 like the days H3117 of a hired H7916 man H7916?
Job 7:2
“As a slave H5650 who pants H7602 for the shade H6738,
And as a hired H7916 man H7916 who eagerly H6960 hopes H6960 for his wages H6467,
Job 7:3
So H3651 am I apportioned H5157 months H3391 of worthlessness H7723,
And nights H3915 of trouble H5999 are appointed H4487 me.
Job 7:4
“If H518 I lie H7901 down H7901 I say H559,
‘When H4970 shall I arise H6965?’
But the twilight H6153 continues H4058,
And I am H7646 saturated H7646 with tossing H5076 until H5704 dawn H5399.
Job 7:5
“My flesh H1320 is clothed H3847 with worms H7415 and a crust H1487 of dirt H6083;
My skin H5785 scabs H7280 over and flows H3988 out again.
Job 7:6
“My days H3117 are H7043 swifter H7043 than H4480 a weaver’s H708 shuttle H708,
And come H3615 to H3615 an H3615 end H3615 without H657 hope H8615.
Job 7:7
“Remember H2142 that my life H2416 is but wind H7307;
My eye H5869 will not again H7725 see H7200 good H2896.
Job 7:8
“The eye H5869 of him who sees H7210 me will behold H7789 me no H3808 longer;
Your eyes H5869 will be on me, but I will not be.
Job 7:9
“A cloud H6051 vanishes H3615, and it is gone H1980,
So H3651 he who goes H3381 down H3381 to Sheol H7585 does not come H5927 up H5927.
Job 7:10
“He will not return H7725 again H5750 to his house H1004,
Nor H3808 will his place H4725 recognize H5234 him anymore H5750.
Job 7:11
“Indeed H1571 I will not hold H2820 back H2820 my mouth H6310;
I will speak H1696 in the distress H6862 of my spirit H7307;
I will muse H7878 on the bitterness H4751 of my soul H5315.
Job 7:12
“Am I the sea H3220 or H518 the sea H8577 monster H8577,
That You set H7760 a guard H4929 over H5921 me?
Job 7:13
“If H3588 I say H559, ‘My bed H6210 will comfort H5162 me;
My couch H4904 will [fn]ease H5375 my bitter musing H7879,’
Job 7:14
Then You frighten H2865 me with dreams H2472
And terrify H1204 me by visions H2384,
Job 7:15
So that my soul H5315 would choose H977 suffocation H4267,
Death H4194 rather H4480 than H4480 my [fn]pains H6106.
Job 7:16
“I have rejected H3988 everything; I will not live H2421 forever H5769.
Leave H2308 me alone H4480, for my days H3117 are but a breath H1892.
Job 7:17
“What H4100 is man H582 that You magnify H1431 him,
And that You set H7896 Your heart H3820 on H413 him,
Job 7:18
That You [fn]examine H6485 him every morning H1242
And test H974 him every moment H7281?
Job 7:19
“[fn]Will You never H3808 turn H8159 Your gaze H8159 away H8159 from me,
Nor H3808 let H7503 me alone H7503 until H5704 I swallow H1104 my spit H7536?
Job 7:20
“Have I sinned H2398? What H4100 have I done H6466 to You,
O watcher H5341 of men H120?
Why H4100 have You set H7760 me as Your target H4645,
So that I am H1961 a burden H4853 to myself?
Job 7:21
“Why H4100 then do You not forgive H5375 my transgression H6588
And take H5674 away H5674 my iniquity H5771?
For now H6258 I will lie H7901 down H7901 in the dust H6083;
And You will seek H7836 me earnestly H7836, but I will not be.”
