You Must Be Born Again

Now^G1161 there was a man^G444 of the Pharisees^G5330, named^G3686 Nicodemus^G3530, a ruler^G758 of the Jews^G2453;

Jhn 3:2this man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You have come from God as a teacher; for no one can do these [fn]signs that You do unless God is with him.”

Jhn 3:3

Jhn 3:3Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born [fn]again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

Jhn 3:4

Nicodemus^G3530 *said^G3004 to Him, “How^G4459 can^G1410 a man^G444 be born^G1080 when he is old^G1088? Can^G1410^G3361 he enter^G1525 a second^G1208 time^G1208 into his mother’s^G3384 womb^G2836 and be born^G1080?”

Jhn 3:5

Jhn 3:5Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Jhn 3:6

Jhn 3:6“That which has been born of the flesh is flesh, and that which has been born of the Spirit is spirit.

Jhn 3:7

Jhn 3:7“Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born [fn]again.’

Jhn 3:8

Jhn 3:8“The wind blows where it wishes and you hear its sound, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who has been born of the Spirit.”

Jhn 3:9

Nicodemus^G3530 answered^G611 and said^G3004 to Him, “How^G4459 can^G1410 these^G3778 things^G3778 be?”

Jhn 3:10

Jhn 3:10Jesus answered and said to him, “Are you the teacher of Israel and do not understand these things?

Jhn 3:11

Jhn 3:11“Truly, truly, I say to you, we speak of what we know and bear witness of what we have seen, and you do not accept our witness.

Jhn 3:12

Jhn 3:12“If I told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?

Jhn 3:13

Jhn 3:13“And no one has ascended into heaven, but He who descended from heaven, the Son of Man.

Jhn 3:14

Jhn 3:14“And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up;

Jhn 3:15

Jhn 3:15so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life.

Jhn 3:16

“For God^G2316 [fn]so^G3779 loved^G25 the world^G2889, that He gave^G1325 His [fn]only^G3439 begotten^G3439 Son^G5207, that whoever^G3956 believes^G4100 in Him shall not perish^G622, but have^G2192 eternal^G166 life^G2222.

Jhn 3:17

Jhn 3:17“For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.

Jhn 3:18

Jhn 3:18“He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the [fn]only begotten Son of God.

Jhn 3:19

Jhn 3:19“And this is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil.

Jhn 3:20

Jhn 3:20“For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light lest his deeds be exposed.

Jhn 3:21

Jhn 3:21“But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been done by God.”

John the Baptist’s Last Witness

Jhn 3:22

Jhn 3:23And John also was baptizing in Aenon near Salim, because there was much water there; and people were coming and were being baptized—

Jhn 3:26And they came to John and said to him, “Rabbi, He who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you have borne witness, behold, He is baptizing and all are coming to Him.”

Jhn 3:27

Jhn 3:27John answered and said, “A man can receive nothing unless it has been given him from heaven.

Jhn 3:28

Jhn 3:28“You yourselves [fn]are my witnesses that I said, ‘I am not the [fn]Christ,’ but, ‘I have been sent ahead of Him.’

Jhn 3:29

Jhn 3:29“He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice. So this joy of mine has been made full.

Jhn 3:30

Jhn 3:30“He must increase, but I must decrease.

Jhn 3:31

“He who comes^G2064 from above^G509 is above^G1883 all^G3956, he who is of the earth^G1093 is from the earth^G1093 and speaks^G2980 of the earth^G1093. He who comes^G2064 from heaven^G3772 is above^G1883 all^G3956.
