This is the message^H1697 which^H834 Jeremiah^H3414 the prophet^H5030 spoke^H1696 to Baruch^H1263 the son^H1121 of Neriah^H5374, when he had written^H3789 down^H3789 these^H428 words^H1697 in a book^H5612 [fn]at Jeremiah’s^H3414 dictation^H6310, in the fourth^H7243 year^H8141 of Jehoiakim^H3079 the son^H1121 of Josiah^H2977, king^H4428 of Judah^H3063, saying^H559:

Jer 45:2

Jer 45:2“Thus says Yahweh the God of Israel to you, O Baruch:

Jer 45:3

Jer 45:3‘You said, “Ah, woe is me! For Yahweh has added sorrow to my pain; I am weary with my sighing and have found no rest.”’

Jer 45:4

Jer 45:4“Thus you are to say to him, ‘Thus says Yahweh, “Behold, what I have built I am about to pull down, and what I have planted I am about to uproot, that is, the whole land.”

Jer 45:5

Jer 45:5‘But as for you, are you seeking great things for yourself? Do not seek them; for behold, I am going to bring calamity on all flesh,’ declares Yahweh, ‘but I will give your life to you as spoil in all the places where you may go.’”
