Heb 11:2

Heb 11:2For by it the [fn]men of old [fn]gained approval.

Heb 11:3

By faith^G4102 we understand^G3539 that the [fn]worlds^G165 were prepared^G2675 by the word^G4487 of God^G2316, so^G1519 that what is seen^G991 was not made^G1096 out^G1096 of things which are visible^G5316.

Heb 11:4

Heb 11:4By faith Abel offered to God a better sacrifice than Cain, through which he was approved as being righteous—God approving [fn]his gifts—and through [fn]faith, though he is dead, he still speaks.

Heb 11:6And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who draws near to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

Heb 11:9

Heb 11:9By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, fellow heirs of the same promise,

Heb 11:10for he was looking for the city which has foundations, whose architect and builder is God.

Heb 11:11

Heb 11:14

Heb 11:14For those who say such things make it clear that they are seeking a country of their own.

Heb 11:15

Heb 11:15And indeed if they had been remembering that country from which they went out, they would have had opportunity to return.

Heb 11:16

Heb 11:16But now, they aspire to a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not [fn]ashamed to be called their God, for He prepared a city for them.
