The Nephilim and the Daughters of Men

Now it happened^H1961, when^H3588 men^H120 began^H2490 to multiply^H7231 on the face^H6440 of the land^H127, and daughters^H1323 were born^H3205 to them,

Gen 6:2

Gen 6:2that the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were good in appearance; and they took wives for themselves, whomever they chose.

Gen 6:3

Gen 6:3Then Yahweh said, “My Spirit shall not [fn]strive with man forever [fn]because he indeed is flesh; [fn]nevertheless his days shall be 120 years.”

Gen 6:4

Gen 6:4The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.

Gen 6:5

Then Yahweh^H3068 saw^H7200 that the evil^H7451 of man^H120 was great^H7227 on the earth^H776, and that every^H3605 intent^H3336 of the thoughts^H4284 of his heart^H3820 was only^H7534 evil^H7451 continually^H3605^H3117.

Gen 6:6

Gen 6:6And Yahweh regretted that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved [fn]in His heart.

Gen 6:7

Gen 6:7And Yahweh said, “I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, from man to animals to creeping things and to birds of the [fn]sky; for I regret that I have made them.”

Gen 6:8

Gen 6:8But Noah found favor in the eyes of Yahweh.

The Generations of Noah

Gen 6:9

These^H428 are the generations^H8435 of Noah^H5146. Noah^H5146 was a righteous^H6662 man^H376, [fn]blameless^H8549 among those in his generations^H1755; Noah^H5146 walked^H1980 with God^H430.

Gen 6:10

Gen 6:10And Noah [fn]became the father of three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

Gen 6:11

Now the earth^H776 was^H7843 corrupt^H7843 before^H6440 God^H430, and the earth^H776 was filled^H4390 with violence^H2555.

Gen 6:12

Gen 6:12And God saw the earth, and behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way upon the earth.

Gen 6:13

Then God^H430 said^H559 to Noah^H5146, “The end^H7093 of all^H3605 flesh^H1320 has come^H935 before^H6440 Me; for the earth^H776 is filled^H4390 with violence^H2555 because^H4480^H6440 of them; and behold^H2009, I am about to destroy^H7843 them with the earth^H776.

Gen 6:14

Gen 6:14“Make for yourself an ark of gopher wood; you shall make the ark with rooms, and you shall [fn]cover it inside and out with pitch.

Gen 6:15

Gen 6:15“Now this is how you shall make it: the length of the ark [fn]300 cubits, its breadth 50 cubits, and its height 30 cubits.

Gen 6:16

Gen 6:16“You shall make a [fn]window for the ark, and complete it to one [fn]cubit from [fn]the top; and set the door of the ark in the side of it; you shall make it with lower, second, and third decks.

Gen 6:17

Gen 6:17“As for Me, behold I am bringing the flood of water upon the earth, to destroy all flesh in which is the breath of life, from under heaven; everything that is on the earth shall breathe its last.

Gen 6:18

Gen 6:18“But I will establish My covenant with you; and you shall enter the ark—you and your sons and your wife and your sons’ wives with you.

Gen 6:19

Gen 6:19“And of every living thing of all flesh, you shall bring two of every kind into the ark, to keep them alive with you; they shall be male and female.

Gen 6:20

Gen 6:20“Of the birds after their kind, and of the animals after their kind, of every creeping thing of the ground after its kind, two of every kind will come to you to keep them alive.
