The Generations of Shem, Ham, and Japheth

(1Ch 1:5–27 )

Now these^H428 are the generations^H8435 of Shem^H8035, Ham^H2526, and Japheth^H3315, the sons^H1121 of Noah^H5146; and sons^H1121 were born^H3205 to them after^H310 the flood^H3999.

Gen 10:2

The sons^H1121 of Japheth^H3315 were Gomer^H1586 and Magog^H4031 and Madai^H4074 and Javan^H3120 and Tubal^H8422 and Meshech^H4902 and Tiras^H8494.

Gen 10:3

Gen 10:3The sons of Gomer were Ashkenaz and [fn]Riphath and Togarmah.

Gen 10:4

Gen 10:4The sons of Javan were Elishah and Tarshish, Kittim and [fn]Dodanim.

Gen 10:5

Gen 10:5From these the coastlands of the nations [fn]were separated into their lands, every one according to his tongue, according to their families, into their nations.

Gen 10:6

The sons^H1121 of Ham^H2526 were Cush^H3568 and [fn]Mizraim^H4714 and Put^H6316 and Canaan^H3667.

Gen 10:7

Gen 10:7The sons of Cush were Seba and Havilah and Sabtah and Raamah and Sabteca; and the sons of Raamah were Sheba and Dedan.

Gen 10:8

Gen 10:8Now Cush [fn]was the father of Nimrod; he began to be a mighty one on the earth.

Gen 10:9

Gen 10:9He was a mighty hunter before Yahweh; therefore it is said, “Like Nimrod a mighty hunter before Yahweh.”

Gen 10:10

Gen 10:10The beginning of his kingdom was [fn]Babel and Erech and Accad and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.

Gen 10:11

Gen 10:11From that land he went out to Assyria and built Nineveh and Rehoboth-Ir and Calah,

Gen 10:12

Gen 10:12and Resen between Nineveh and Calah; that is the great city.

Gen 10:13

Gen 10:13Mizraim [fn]was the father of Ludim and Anamim and Lehabim and Naphtuhim

Gen 10:14

Gen 10:14and Pathrusim and Casluhim (from whom came the Philistines) and Caphtorim.

Gen 10:15

Canaan^H3667 [fn]was^H3205 the father^H3205 of Sidon^H6721, his firstborn^H1060, and Heth^H2845

Gen 10:16

Gen 10:16and the Jebusite and the Amorite and the Girgashite

Gen 10:17

Gen 10:17and the Hivite and the Arkite and the Sinite

Gen 10:18

Gen 10:18and the Arvadite and the Zemarite and the Hamathite; and afterward the families of the Canaanite were scattered.

Gen 10:19

Gen 10:19The border of the Canaanite [fn]extended from Sidon as you go toward Gerar, as far as Gaza; as you go toward Sodom and Gomorrah and Admah and Zeboiim, as far as Lasha.

Gen 10:20

Gen 10:20These are the sons of Ham, according to their families, according to their tongues, by their lands, by their nations.

Gen 10:21

Also^H1571 to Shem^H8035, the father^H1 of all^H3605 the children^H1121 of Eber^H5677, and the [fn]older^H1419 brother^H251 of Japheth^H3315, children were born^H3205.

Gen 10:22

Gen 10:22The sons of Shem were Elam and Asshur and Arpachshad and Lud and Aram.

Gen 10:23

Gen 10:23The sons of Aram were Uz and Hul and Gether and Mash.

Gen 10:24

Gen 10:24Arpachshad [fn]was the father of Shelah; and Shelah [fn]was the father of Eber.

Gen 10:25

Gen 10:25Now two sons were born to Eber; the name of the one was [fn]Peleg, for in his days the earth was divided; and his brother’s name was Joktan.

Gen 10:26

Gen 10:26And Joktan [fn]was the father of Almodad and Sheleph and Hazarmaveth and Jerah

Gen 10:27

Gen 10:27and Hadoram and Uzal and Diklah

Gen 10:28

Gen 10:28and [fn]Obal and Abimael and Sheba

Gen 10:29

Gen 10:29and Ophir and Havilah and Jobab; all these were the sons of Joktan.

Gen 10:30

Now their [fn]settlement^H4186 [fn]extended^H1961 from Mesha^H4852 as you go^H935 toward Sephar^H5611, the hill^H2022 country^H2022 of the east^H6924.

Gen 10:31

Gen 10:31These are the sons of Shem, according to their families, according to their tongues, by their lands, according to their nations.

Gen 10:32

These^H428 are the families^H4940 of the sons^H1121 of Noah^H5146, according to their generations^H8435, by their nations^H1471; and out of these^H428 the nations^H1471 were separated^H6504 on the earth^H776 after^H310 the flood^H3999.
