Yahweh’s Glory Returns to the Temple

Then he led^H1980 me to the gate^H8179, the gate^H8179 facing^H6437 toward^H1870 the east^H6921;

Eze 43:2and behold, the glory of the God of Israel was coming from the way of the east. And His voice was like the sound of many waters; and the earth shone with His glory.

Eze 43:3

Eze 43:3And it was like the appearance of the vision which I saw, like the vision which I saw when [fn]He came to bring the city to ruin. And the visions were like the vision which I saw by the river Chebar; and I fell on my face.

Eze 43:4

Eze 43:4And the glory of Yahweh came into the house by the way of the gate facing toward the east.

Eze 43:5

Eze 43:5And the Spirit lifted me up and brought me into the inner court; and behold, the glory of Yahweh filled the house.

Eze 43:6

Then I heard^H8085 one speaking^H1696 to me from the house^H1004, while a man^H376 was standing^H5975 beside^H681 me.

Eze 43:7

Eze 43:7He said to me, “Son of man, this is the place of My throne and the place of the soles of My feet, where I will dwell among the sons of Israel forever. And the house of Israel will not again defile My holy name, neither they nor their kings, by their harlotry and by the [fn]corpses of their kings [fn]when they die,

Eze 43:8

Eze 43:8by putting their threshold by My threshold and their door post beside My door post, with only the wall between Me and them. And they have defiled My holy name by their abominations which they have done. So I have consumed them in My anger.

Eze 43:9

Eze 43:9“Now let them put away their harlotry and the [fn]corpses of their kings far from Me; and I will dwell among them forever.

Eze 43:10

“As for you, son^H1121 of man^H120, [fn]describe^H5046 the house^H1004 of Yahweh to the house^H1004 of Israel^H3478, that they may feel^H3637 dishonor^H3637 for their iniquities^H5771; and let them measure^H4058 the [fn]plan^H8508.

Eze 43:11

Eze 43:11“If they feel dishonor for all that they have done, make known to them the [fn]design of the house, its structure, its exits, its entrances, all its designs, all its statutes[fn], and all its laws. And write it in their sight so that they may keep its whole [fn]design and all its statutes and do them.

Eze 43:12

Eze 43:12“This is the [fn]law of the house: within its entire boundary, on the top of the mountain all around, shall be most holy. Behold, this is the [fn]law of the house.

The Altar and Offerings

Eze 43:13

“And these^H428 are the measurements^H4060 of the altar^H4196 by cubits^H520 (the cubit^H520 being a [fn]cubit^H520 and a [fn]handbreadth^H2948): the [fn]base^H2436 shall be a cubit^H520 and the width^H7341 a cubit^H520, and its border^H1366 on its edge^H8193 round^H5439 about^H5439 one^H259 [fn]span^H2239; and this^H2088 shall be the height of the [fn]base^H1354 of the altar^H4196.

Eze 43:14

Eze 43:14“And from the base on the ground to the lower ledge shall be two [fn]cubits and the width one cubit; and from the smaller ledge to the larger ledge shall be four cubits and the width [fn]one cubit.

Eze 43:15

Eze 43:15“And the [fn]altar hearth shall be four cubits; and from the [fn]altar hearth shall extend upwards four horns.

Eze 43:16

Eze 43:16“Now the [fn]altar hearth shall be [fn]twelve cubits long by twelve wide, square in its four sides.

Eze 43:17

Eze 43:17“The ledge shall be [fn]fourteen cubits long by fourteen wide in its four sides; the border around it shall be half a cubit, and its base shall be a cubit round about; and its steps shall [fn]face the east.”

Eze 43:18

And He said^H559 to me, “Son^H1121 of man^H120, thus^H3541 says^H559 Lord^H136 Yahweh^H3068, ‘These^H428 are the statutes^H2708 for the altar^H4196 on the day^H3117 it is made^H6213, to offer^H5927 burnt^H5930 offerings^H5930 on it and to splash^H2236 blood^H1818 on it.

Eze 43:19

Eze 43:19‘And you shall give to the Levitical priests who are from the seed of Zadok, who draw near to Me to minister to Me,’ declares Lord Yahweh, ‘a bull from the herd for a sin offering.

Eze 43:20

Eze 43:20‘You shall also take some of its blood and put it on its four horns and on the four corners of the ledge and on the border round about; thus you shall purify it and make atonement for it.

Eze 43:21

Eze 43:21‘And you shall take the bull for the sin offering, and it shall be burned in the appointed place of the house, outside the sanctuary.

Eze 43:22

‘Now on the second^H8145 day^H3117 you shall bring^H7126 near^H7126 a male^H8163 goat^H5795 without^H8549 blemish^H8549 for a sin^H2403 offering^H2403, and they shall purify^H2398 the altar^H4196 as they purified^H2398 it with the bull^H6499.

Eze 43:23

Eze 43:23‘When you have finished purifying it, you shall present a bull from the herd without blemish and a ram without blemish from the flock.

Eze 43:24

Eze 43:24‘And you shall bring them near before Yahweh, and the priests shall throw salt on them, and they shall offer them up as a burnt offering to Yahweh.

Eze 43:25

Eze 43:25‘For seven days you shall offer daily a goat for a sin offering; also a bull from the herd and a ram from the flock, without blemish, shall be offered.

Eze 43:26

Eze 43:26‘For seven days they shall make atonement for the altar and purify it; so shall they [fn]ordain it.

Eze 43:27

Eze 43:27‘So they will complete the days. And it shall be that on the eighth day and onward, the priests shall [fn]offer on the altar your burnt offerings and your peace offerings; and I will accept you,’ declares Lord Yahweh.”
