The Chambers

Then he brought^H3318 me out^H3318 into the outer^H2435 court^H2691, the way^H1870 toward^H1870 the north^H6828; and he brought^H935 me to the chamber^H3957 which^H834 was opposite^H5048 the separate^H1508 area^H1508 and opposite^H5048 the building^H1146 toward^H413 the north^H6828.

Eze 42:2

Eze 42:2Along the length, which was [fn]one hundred cubits, was the north door; the width was fifty cubits.

Eze 42:3

Eze 42:3Opposite the [fn]twenty cubits which belonged to the inner court, and opposite the pavement which belonged to the outer court, was [fn]gallery corresponding to [fn]gallery in three stories.

Eze 42:4

Eze 42:4Before the chambers was an inner walk ten cubits wide, a way of [fn]one hundred cubits; and their openings were on the north.

Eze 42:5

Eze 42:5Now the upper chambers were [fn]smaller because the [fn]galleries took more space away from them than from the lower and middle ones in the building.

Eze 42:6

Eze 42:6For they were in three stories and had no pillars like the pillars of the courts; therefore the upper chambers were [fn]set back from the ground upward, more than the lower and middle ones.

Eze 42:7

Eze 42:7As for the outer wall by the side of the chambers, toward the outer court facing the chambers, its length was fifty cubits.

Eze 42:8

Eze 42:8For the length of the chambers which were in the outer court was fifty cubits; and behold, the length of those facing the temple was one hundred cubits.

Eze 42:9

Eze 42:9Below these chambers was the entrance on the east side, as one enters them from the outer court.

Eze 42:10

In the [fn]thickness^H7341 of the wall^H1447 of the court^H2691 toward^H1870 the east^H6921, facing^H413^H6440 the separate^H1508 area^H1508 and facing^H413^H6440 the building^H1146, there were chambers^H3957.

Eze 42:11

Eze 42:11The way in front of them was like the appearance of the chambers which were on the north, according to their length so was their width, and all their exits were both according to their [fn]arrangements and openings.

Eze 42:12

Eze 42:12Corresponding to the openings of the chambers which were toward the south was an opening at the head of the way, the way in front of the wall toward the east, as one enters them.

Eze 42:13

Then he said^H559 to me, “The north^H6828 chambers^H3957 and the south^H1864 chambers^H3957, which^H834 are opposite^H413^H6440 the separate^H1508 area^H1508, they are the holy^H6944 chambers^H3957 where^H834^H8033 the priests^H3548 who^H834 are near^H7138 to Yahweh^H3068 shall eat^H398 the most^H6944 holy^H6944 things^H6944. There^H8033 they shall lay^H5117 the most^H6944 holy^H6944 things^H6944, the grain offering^H4503, the sin^H2403 offering^H2403, and the guilt^H817 offering^H817; for the place^H4725 is holy^H6918.

Eze 42:14

Eze 42:14“When the priests enter, then they shall not go out into the outer court from the sanctuary [fn]without laying there their garments in which they minister, for they are holy. They shall put on other garments; then they shall come near to that which is for the people.”

Eze 42:15

Then he had finished^H3615 measuring^H4060 the inner^H6442 house^H1004; he brought^H3318 me out^H3318 by the way^H1870 of the gate^H8179 which^H834 faced^H6440 toward^H1870 the east^H6921 and measured^H4058 it all^H5439 around^H5439.

Eze 42:16

Eze 42:16He measured on the east [fn]side with the measuring reed 500 reeds by the measuring reed.

Eze 42:17

Eze 42:17He measured on the north side 500 reeds by the measuring reed.

Eze 42:18

Eze 42:18On the south side he measured 500 reeds with the measuring reed.

Eze 42:19

Eze 42:19He turned to the west side and measured 500 reeds with the measuring reed.

Eze 42:20

Eze 42:20He measured it [fn]on the four sides; it had a wall all around, the length 500 and the width 500, to divide between the holy and the profane.
