The Nave

Then he brought^H935 me to the [fn]nave^H1964 and measured^H4058 the side^H352 pillars^H352; [fn]six^H8337 cubits^H520 wide^H7341 on each^H6311 side^H6311 was the width^H7341 of the [fn]side^H168 pillar^H168.

Eze 41:2

Eze 41:2The width of the entrance was ten cubits, and the [fn]sides of the entrance were five cubits on each side. And he measured [fn]the length of the nave, [fn]forty cubits, and the width, twenty cubits.

The Holy of Holies

Eze 41:3

Eze 41:3Then he went [fn]inside and measured each side pillar of the doorway, two cubits, and the doorway, six cubits high; and the width of the doorway, seven cubits.

Eze 41:4

Eze 41:4He measured its length, twenty cubits, and the width, twenty cubits, before the nave; and he said to me, “This is the Holy of Holies.”

The Wall, Side Chambers, and West Building

Eze 41:5

Then he measured^H4058 the wall^H7023 of the house^H1004 of Yahweh, six^H8337 cubits^H520; and the width^H7341 of the side^H6763 chambers^H6763, four^H702 cubits^H520, all^H5439 around^H5439 about^H5439 the house^H1004 on every^H5439 side^H5439.

Eze 41:6

Eze 41:6The side chambers were in three stories, [fn]one above another, and [fn]thirty in each story; and [fn]the side chambers extended to the wall which stood on [fn]their inward side all around, that they might be fastened, and not be fastened into the wall of the house itself.

Eze 41:7

Eze 41:7The side chambers surrounding the house were wider at each successive story. Because the structure surrounding the house went upward by stages on all sides of the house, therefore the width of the house increased as it went higher; and thus one went up from the lowest story to the highest by way of the [fn]second story.

Eze 41:8

Eze 41:8I saw also that the house had a raised [fn]platform all around; the foundations of the side chambers were a full rod of [fn]six [fn]long cubits in height.

Eze 41:9

Eze 41:9The [fn]thickness of the outer wall of the side chambers was five cubits. But the free space between the side chambers belonging to the house

Eze 41:10

Eze 41:10and the outer chambers was twenty cubits in width all around the house on every side.

Eze 41:11

Eze 41:11The [fn]doorways of the [fn]side chambers toward the free space consisted of one doorway toward the north and another doorway toward the south; and the width of the place of the free space was five cubits all around.

Eze 41:12

The building^H1146 that was in front^H6440 of the separate^H1508 area^H1508 at the side^H6285 toward^H1870 the west^H3220 was [fn]seventy^H7657 cubits^H520 wide^H7341; and the wall^H7023 of the building^H1146 was five^H2568 cubits^H520 [fn]thick^H7341 all^H5439 around^H5439, and its length^H753 was [fn]ninety^H8673 cubits^H520.

The Measurements of the Building

Eze 41:13

Then he measured^H4058 the house^H1004, [fn]one hundred^H3967 cubits^H520 long^H753; the separate^H1508 area^H1508 with the building^H1140 and its walls^H7023 were also one hundred^H3967 cubits^H520 long^H753.

Eze 41:14

Eze 41:14Also the width of the front of the house and that of the separate [fn]areas along the east side totaled one hundred cubits.

Eze 41:15

He measured^H4058 the length^H753 of the building^H1146 [fn]along^H413 the front^H6440 of the separate^H1508 area^H1508 behind^H5921^H310 it, with a [fn]gallery^H862 on each^H6311 side^H6311, one hundred^H3967 cubits^H520, along with the inner^H6442 nave^H1964 and the porches^H197 of the court^H2691.

Carvings and Furnishings

Eze 41:16

Eze 41:16The thresholds, the [fn]latticed windows, and the [fn]galleries round about their three stories, opposite the threshold, were paneled with wood all around, and from the ground to the windows (but the windows were covered),

Eze 41:17

Eze 41:17over the entrance, and to the inner house, and on the outside, and on all the wall all around inside and outside, by measurement.

Eze 41:18

Eze 41:18It was [fn]carved with cherubim and palm trees; and a palm tree was between cherub and cherub, and every cherub had two faces,

Eze 41:19

Eze 41:19a man’s face toward the palm tree on one side and a young lion’s face toward the palm tree on the other side; they were [fn]carved on all the house all around.

Eze 41:20

Eze 41:20From the ground to above the entrance cherubim and palm trees were [fn]carved, as well as on the wall of the nave.

Eze 41:21

The doorposts^H4201 of the nave^H1964 were square^H7251; as for the front^H6440 of the sanctuary^H6944, the appearance^H4758 of one doorpost^H4201 was like that of the other.

Eze 41:22

Eze 41:22The altar was of wood, three cubits high and its length two cubits; its corners, its [fn]base, and its [fn]sides were of wood. And he said to me, “This is the table that is before Yahweh.”

Eze 41:23

Eze 41:23The nave and the sanctuary each had a double door.

Eze 41:24

Eze 41:24Each of the doors had two leaves, two [fn]swinging leaves; two leaves for one door and two leaves for the other.

Eze 41:25

Eze 41:25Also there were [fn]carved on them, on the doors of the nave, cherubim and palm trees like those [fn]carved on the walls; and there was a canopy of wood over the front of the porch outside.

Eze 41:26

Eze 41:26There were [fn]latticed windows and palm trees on one side and on the other, on the sides of the porch; thus were the side chambers of the house and the canopies.
