Mountains of Israel Will Bear Fruit

“Now as for you, son^H1121 of man^H120, prophesy^H5012 to the mountains^H2022 of Israel^H3478 and say^H559, ‘O mountains^H2022 of Israel^H3478, hear^H8085 the word^H1697 of Yahweh^H3068.

Eze 36:2

Eze 36:2‘Thus says Lord Yahweh, “Because the enemy has spoken against you, ‘Aha!’ and, ‘The everlasting [fn]heights have become our possession,’

Eze 36:3

Eze 36:3therefore prophesy and say, ‘Thus says Lord Yahweh, “[fn]For good reason they have made you desolate and bruised you from every side, that you would become a possession of the rest of the nations, and you have been taken up in the [fn]speech of their tongue and the rumors of the people.”’”

Eze 36:4

Eze 36:4‘Therefore, O mountains of Israel, hear the word of Lord Yahweh. Thus says Lord Yahweh to the mountains and to the hills, to the ravines and to the valleys, to the desolate wastes and to the forsaken cities which have become plunder and objects of scoffing to the rest of the nations which are round about,

Eze 36:5

Eze 36:5therefore thus says Lord Yahweh, “Surely in the fire of My jealousy I have spoken against the rest of the nations and against all Edom, who gave My land to themselves as a possession with wholehearted gladness and with scorn of soul, to drive it out for plunder.”

Eze 36:6

Eze 36:6‘Therefore prophesy concerning the land of Israel and say to the mountains and to the hills, to the ravines and to the valleys, “Thus says Lord Yahweh, ‘Behold, I have spoken in My jealousy and in My wrath because you have borne the dishonor of the nations.’

Eze 36:7

Eze 36:7“Therefore thus says Lord Yahweh, ‘I have [fn]sworn that surely the nations which are around you will themselves bear their dishonor.

Eze 36:8

Eze 36:8‘But you, O mountains of Israel, you will put forth your branches and bear your fruit for My people Israel; for they will soon come.

Eze 36:9

Eze 36:9‘For, behold, I am for you, and I will turn to you, and you will be cultivated and sown.

Eze 36:10

Eze 36:10‘I will multiply men on you, all the house of Israel, all of it; and the cities will be inhabited, and the waste places will be rebuilt.

Eze 36:11

Eze 36:11‘I will multiply on you man and beast; and they will multiply and be fruitful; and I will cause you to be inhabited as you were formerly and will [fn]treat you better than at the first. Thus you will know that I am Yahweh.

Eze 36:12

Eze 36:12‘And I will cause men—My people Israel—to walk on you and possess you so that you will become their inheritance and never again bereave them of children.’

Eze 36:13

“Thus^H3541 says^H559 Lord^H136 Yahweh^H3068, ‘Because^H3282 they say^H559 to you, “You are a devourer^H398 of men^H120 and have bereaved^H7921 your [fn]nation^H1471 of^H7921 children^H7921,”

Eze 36:14

Eze 36:14therefore you will no longer devour men and no longer bereave your nation of children,’ declares Lord Yahweh.

Eze 36:15

Eze 36:15“I will not let you hear dishonor from the nations anymore, nor will you bear reproach from the peoples any longer, nor will you cause your nation to stumble any longer,” declares Lord Yahweh.’”

Yahweh’s Name Profaned Among the Nations

Eze 36:16

Then the word^H1697 of Yahweh^H3068 came^H1961 to me saying^H559,

Eze 36:17

Eze 36:17“Son of man, when the house of Israel was living in their own land, they defiled it by their ways and their deeds; their way before Me was like the uncleanness of a woman in her impurity.

Eze 36:18

Eze 36:18“Therefore I poured out My wrath on them for the blood which they had shed on the land, because they had defiled it with their idols.

Eze 36:19

Eze 36:19“Also I scattered them among the nations, and they were dispersed throughout the lands. According to their ways and their deeds I judged them.

Eze 36:20

Eze 36:20“Then they came to the nations to which they came. And they profaned My holy name because it was said of them, ‘These are the people of Yahweh; yet they have come out of His land.’

Eze 36:21

Eze 36:21“But I [fn]had concern for My holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the nations where they went.

They Will Know That I Am Yahweh

Eze 36:22

“Therefore^H3651 say^H559 to the house^H1004 of Israel^H3478, ‘Thus^H3541 says^H559 Lord^H136 Yahweh^H3068, “It is not for your sake^H4616, O house^H1004 of Israel^H3478, that I am about to act^H6213, but for My holy^H6944 name^H8034, which^H834 you have profaned^H2490 among the nations^H1471, to which^H834^H8033 you have come^H935.

Eze 36:23

Eze 36:23“I will prove the holiness of My great name which has been profaned among the nations, which you have profaned in their midst. Then the nations will know that I am Yahweh,” declares Lord Yahweh, “when I prove Myself holy among you in their sight.

Eze 36:24

Eze 36:24“And I will take you from the nations, gather you from all the lands, and bring you into your own land.

Eze 36:25

Eze 36:25“Then I will [fn]sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your uncleanness and from all your idols.

Eze 36:26

Eze 36:26“Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.

Eze 36:27

Eze 36:27“I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to do My judgments.

Eze 36:28

Eze 36:28“And you will inhabit the land that I gave to your fathers; so you will be My people, and I will be your God.

Eze 36:29

Eze 36:29“Moreover, I will save you from all your uncleanness; and I will call for the grain and multiply it, and I will not [fn]bring a famine on you.

Eze 36:30

Eze 36:30“I will multiply the fruit of the tree and the produce of the field so that you will not receive again the reproach of famine among the nations.

Eze 36:31

Eze 36:31“Then you will remember your evil ways and your deeds that were not good, and you will loathe yourselves to your own faces for your iniquities and your abominations.

Eze 36:32

Eze 36:32“I am not doing this for your sake,” declares Lord Yahweh, “let it be known to you. Be ashamed and feel dishonor for your ways, O house of Israel!”

Eze 36:33

‘Thus^H3541 says^H559 Lord^H136 Yahweh^H3068, “On the day^H3117 that I cleanse^H2891 you from all^H3605 your iniquities^H5771, I will cause the cities^H5892 to be inhabited^H3427, and the waste^H2723 places^H2723 will be rebuilt^H1129.

Eze 36:34

Eze 36:34“The desolate land will be cultivated instead of being a desolation in the sight of everyone who passes by.

Eze 36:35

Eze 36:35“And they will say, ‘This desolate land has become like the garden of Eden; and the waste, desolate, and [fn]ruined cities are fortified and inhabited.’

Eze 36:36

Eze 36:36“Then the nations that remain all around you will know that I, Yahweh, have rebuilt the ruined places and planted that which was desolate; I, Yahweh, have spoken and will do it.”

Eze 36:37

‘Thus^H3541 says^H559 Lord^H136 Yahweh^H3068, “This^H2088 also^H5750 I will let the house^H1004 of Israel^H3478 inquire^H1875 of Me to do^H6213 for them: I will increase^H7235 their men^H120 like a flock^H6629.

Eze 36:38

Eze 36:38“Like the flock for holy offerings, like the flock at Jerusalem during her appointed times, so will the waste cities be filled with flocks of men. Then they will know that I am Yahweh.”’”
