The Commandment to Love Yahweh

“Now this^H2088 is the commandment^H4687, the statutes^H2706 and the judgments^H4941, which^H834 Yahweh^H3068 your God^H430 has commanded^H6680 me to teach^H3925 you, that you might do^H6213 it in the land^H776 where^H834^H8033 you are going^H5674 over^H5674 to possess^H3423 it,

Deu 6:2

Deu 6:2so that you and your son and your grandson might fear Yahweh your God, to keep all His statutes and His commandments which I am commanding you, all the days of your life, and that your days may be prolonged.

Deu 6:3

Deu 6:3“O Israel, you shall listen and [fn]be careful to do it, that it may be well with you and that you may multiply greatly, just as Yahweh, the God of your fathers, has promised you, in a land flowing with milk and honey.

Deu 6:4

“Hear^H8085, O Israel^H3478! [fn]Yahweh^H3068 is our God^H430, Yahweh^H3068 is one^H259!

Deu 6:5

Deu 6:5“You shall love Yahweh your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.

Deu 6:6

Deu 6:6“These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart.

Deu 6:7

Deu 6:7“You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall speak of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up.

Deu 6:8

Deu 6:8“You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as [fn]phylacteries between your eyes.

Deu 6:9

Deu 6:9“You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

Deu 6:10

“Then it will be^H1961, when^H3588 Yahweh^H3068 your God^H430 brings^H935 you into the land^H776 which^H834 He swore^H7650 to your fathers^H1, to Abraham^H85, to Isaac^H3327, and to Jacob^H3290, to give^H5414 you, great^H1419 and good^H2896 cities^H5892 which^H834 you did not build^H1129,

Deu 6:11and houses full of all good things which you did not fill, and hewn cisterns which you did not dig, vineyards and olive trees which you did not plant, and you will eat and be satisfied,

Deu 6:12

Deu 6:12then beware, lest you forget Yahweh who brought you from the land of Egypt, out of the house of [fn]slavery.

Deu 6:13

Deu 6:13“Yahweh your God you shall [fn]fear; and Him you shall serve; and by His name you shall swear.

Deu 6:14

Deu 6:14“You shall not walk after other gods, any of the gods of the peoples who surround you,

Deu 6:15

Deu 6:15for Yahweh your God in the midst of you is a jealous God—lest the anger of Yahweh your God be kindled against you, and He destroy you from the face of the earth.

Deu 6:16

“You shall not put^H5254 Yahweh^H3068 your God^H430 to^H5254 the^H5254 test^H5254, as you tested^H5254 Him at Massah^H4532.

Deu 6:17

Deu 6:17“You should diligently keep the commandments of Yahweh your God and His testimonies and His statutes which He has commanded you.

Deu 6:18

Deu 6:18“And you shall do what is right and good in the sight of Yahweh, that it may be well with you and that you may go in and possess the good land which Yahweh swore to give your fathers,

Deu 6:19

Deu 6:19by driving out all your enemies from before you, as Yahweh has spoken.

Deu 6:20

“When^H3588 your son^H1121 asks^H7592 you in time^H4279 to come^H4279, saying^H559, ‘What^H4100 do the testimonies^H5713 and the statutes^H2706 and the judgments^H4941 mean which^H834 Yahweh^H3068 our God^H430 commanded^H6680 you?’

Deu 6:21

Deu 6:21then you shall say to your son, ‘We were slaves to Pharaoh in Egypt, and Yahweh brought us from Egypt with a strong hand.

Deu 6:22

Deu 6:22‘Moreover, Yahweh showed great and calamitous signs and wonders before our eyes against Egypt, Pharaoh, and all his household;

Deu 6:23

Deu 6:23But He brought us out from there in order to bring us in, to give us the land which He had sworn to our fathers.’

Deu 6:24

Deu 6:24“So Yahweh commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear Yahweh our God for our good all our days and for our survival, as it is today.

Deu 6:25

Deu 6:25“And it will be righteousness for us if we [fn]are careful to do all this commandment before Yahweh our God, just as He commanded us.
