The Passover

(Exo 12:1–20; 23:14–19; 34:18–26 )

“Keep^H8104 the month^H2320 of Abib^H24 and [fn]celebrate^H6213 the Passover^H6453 to Yahweh^H3068 your God^H430, for in the month^H2320 of Abib^H24 Yahweh^H3068 your God^H430 brought^H3318 you out^H3318 of Egypt^H4714 by night^H3915.

Deu 16:2

Deu 16:2“And you shall sacrifice the Passover to Yahweh your God from the flock and the herd, in the place where Yahweh chooses for His name to dwell.

Deu 16:3

Deu 16:3“You shall not eat leavened bread with it; seven days you shall eat with it unleavened bread, the bread of affliction (for you came out of the land of Egypt in haste), so that you may remember the day when you came out of the land of Egypt all the days of your life.

Deu 16:4

Deu 16:4“For seven days no leaven shall be seen with you in all your territory, and none of the flesh which you sacrifice on the evening of the first day shall remain overnight until morning.

Deu 16:5

Deu 16:5“You are not allowed to sacrifice the Passover in any of your gates of the towns which Yahweh your God is giving you;

Deu 16:6

Deu 16:6but at the place where Yahweh your God chooses for His name to dwell, there you shall sacrifice the Passover in the evening at sunset, at the appointed time that you came out of Egypt.

Deu 16:7

Deu 16:7“And you shall cook and eat it in the place which Yahweh your God chooses. In the morning you are to return to your tents.

Deu 16:8

Deu 16:8“Six days you shall eat unleavened bread, and on the seventh day there shall be a solemn assembly to Yahweh your God; you shall do no work on it.

The Feast of Weeks

(Exo 34:22; Lev 23:15–21; Num 28:26–31 )

Deu 16:9

“You shall count^H5608 seven^H7651 weeks^H7620 for yourself; you shall begin^H2490 to count^H5608 seven^H7651 weeks^H7620 from the time you begin^H2490 to put the sickle^H2770 to the standing^H7054 grain^H7054.

Deu 16:10

Deu 16:10“Then you shall [fn]celebrate the Feast of Weeks to Yahweh your God with a tribute of a freewill offering of your hand, which you shall give just as Yahweh your God blesses you;

Deu 16:11

Deu 16:11and you shall be glad before Yahweh your God, you and your son and your daughter and your male and female slaves and the Levite who is within your gates and the sojourner and the [fn]orphan and the widow who are in your midst, in the place where Yahweh your God chooses for His name to dwell.

Deu 16:12

Deu 16:12“And you shall remember that you were a slave in Egypt, and you shall be careful to observe these statutes.

The Feast of Booths

(Lev 23:33–43; Num 29:12–40 )

Deu 16:13

“You shall [fn]celebrate^H6213 the Feast^H2282 of Booths^H5521 seven^H7651 days^H3117 after you have gathered^H622 in^H622 from your threshing^H1637 floor^H1637 and your wine^H3342 vat^H3342;

Deu 16:14

Deu 16:14and you shall be glad in your feast, you and your son and your daughter and your male and female slaves and the Levite and the sojourner and the [fn]orphan and the widow who are within your gates.

Deu 16:15

Deu 16:15“Seven days you shall celebrate a feast to Yahweh your God in the place which Yahweh chooses, because Yahweh your God will bless you in all your produce and in all the work of your hands, so that you will be altogether glad.

Deu 16:16

“Three^H7969 times^H6471 in a year^H8141 all^H3605 your males^H2138 shall appear^H7200 before^H6440 Yahweh^H3068 your God^H430 in the place^H4725 which^H834 He chooses^H977, at the Feast^H2282 of Unleavened^H4682 Bread^H4682 and at the Feast^H2282 of Weeks^H7620 and at the Feast^H2282 of Booths^H5521, and they shall not appear^H7200 before^H6440 Yahweh^H3068 empty-handed^H7387.

Deu 16:17

Deu 16:17“Every man [fn]shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of Yahweh your God which He has given you.

Do Not Distort Justice

Deu 16:18

“You shall appoint^H5414 for yourself judges^H8199 and officers^H7860 in all^H3605 your gates^H8179 of the towns which^H834 Yahweh^H3068 your God^H430 is giving^H5414 you, according to your tribes^H7626, and they shall judge^H8199 the people^H5971 with righteous^H6664 judgment^H4941.

Deu 16:19

Deu 16:19“You shall not distort justice; you shall not [fn]be partial, and you shall not take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and perverts the words of the righteous.

Deu 16:20

Deu 16:20“Righteousness! Righteousness, you shall pursue, that you may live and possess the land which Yahweh your God is giving you.

Deu 16:21

“You shall not plant^H5193 for yourself an [fn]Asherah^H842 of any^H3605 kind of tree^H6086 beside^H681 the altar^H4196 of Yahweh^H3068 your God^H430, which^H834 you shall make^H6213 for yourself.
