Love and Serve Yahweh

“You shall therefore love^H157 Yahweh^H3068 your God^H430, and keep^H8104 His charge^H4931, His statutes^H2708, His judgments^H4941, and His commandments^H4687 all^H3605 your days^H3117.

Deu 11:2

Deu 11:2“So know this day that I am not speaking with your sons who have not known and who have not seen the [fn]discipline of Yahweh your God—His greatness, His strong hand and His outstretched arm,

Deu 11:3

Deu 11:3and His signs and His works which He did in the midst of Egypt to Pharaoh the king of Egypt and to all his land;

Deu 11:4

Deu 11:4and what He did to Egypt’s army, to its horses and its chariots, when He made the water of the [fn]Red Sea to [fn]engulf them while they were pursuing you, and Yahweh made them perish [fn]utterly;

Deu 11:5

Deu 11:5and what He did to you in the wilderness until you came to this place;

Deu 11:6

Deu 11:6and what He did to Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, the son of Reuben, when the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them, their households, their tents, and every living thing that [fn]followed them, among all Israel—

Deu 11:7

Deu 11:7but your own eyes have seen all the great work of Yahweh which He did.

Deu 11:8

“You shall therefore keep^H8104 every^H3605 commandment^H4687 which^H834 I am commanding^H6680 you today^H3117, so^H4616 that you may be strong^H2388 and go^H935 in^H935 and possess^H3423 the land^H776 into which^H834 you are about to cross^H5674 to possess^H3423 it;

Deu 11:9

Deu 11:9so that you may prolong your days on the land which Yahweh swore to your fathers to give to them and to their seed, a land flowing with milk and honey.

Deu 11:10

Deu 11:10“For the land, into which you are entering to possess it, is not like the land of Egypt from which you came out, where you used to sow your seed and water it with your [fn]foot like a vegetable garden.

Deu 11:11

Deu 11:11“But the land into which you are about to cross to possess it, a land of hills and valleys, drinks water from the rain of heaven,

Deu 11:12

Deu 11:12a land for which Yahweh your God cares; the eyes of Yahweh your God are always on it, from the [fn]beginning even to the end of the year.

Deu 11:13

“And it will be^H1961 that, if^H518 you listen^H8085 obediently^H8085 to my commandments^H4687 which^H834 I am commanding^H6680 you today^H3117, to love^H157 Yahweh^H3068 your God^H430 and to serve^H5647 Him with all^H3605 your heart^H3824 and all^H3605 your soul^H5315,

Deu 11:14

Deu 11:14that [fn]I, Yahweh, will give the rain for your land in its season, the [fn]early and [fn]late rains, that you may gather in your grain and your new wine and your oil.

Deu 11:15

Deu 11:15“And [fn]I will give [fn]grass in your fields for your cattle, and you will eat and be satisfied.

Deu 11:16

Deu 11:16“[fn]Beware lest your hearts be deceived, and you turn away and serve other gods and worship them,

Deu 11:17

Deu 11:17and the anger of Yahweh will be kindled against you, and He will shut up the heavens so that there will be no rain and the ground will not yield its fruit; and you will perish quickly from the good land which Yahweh is giving you.

Deu 11:18

“You shall therefore place^H7760 these^H428 words^H1697 of mine on your heart^H3824 and on your soul^H5315; and you shall bind^H7194 them as a sign^H226 on your hand^H3027, and they shall be as [fn]phylacteries^H2903 between^H996 your eyes^H5869.

Deu 11:19

Deu 11:19“And you shall teach them to your sons, speaking of them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road and when you lie down and when you rise up.

Deu 11:20

Deu 11:20“And you shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates,

Deu 11:21

Deu 11:21so that your days and the days of your sons may be multiplied on the land which Yahweh swore to your fathers to give them, as [fn]long as the heavens remain above the earth.

Deu 11:22

Deu 11:22“For if you are careful to keep this entire commandment which I am commanding you to do, to love Yahweh your God, to walk in all His ways, and to cling to Him,

Deu 11:23

Deu 11:23then Yahweh will dispossess all these nations from before you, and you will dispossess nations greater and mightier than you.

Deu 11:24

Deu 11:24“Every place on which the sole of your foot treads shall be yours; your border will be from the wilderness to Lebanon, and from the river, the river Euphrates, as far as the [fn]western sea.

Deu 11:25

Deu 11:25“No man will be able to stand before you; Yahweh your God will put the dread of you and the fear of you on all the land on which you set foot, as He has spoken to you.

A Blessing and a Curse

Deu 11:26

“See^H7200, I am setting^H5414 before^H6440 you today^H3117 a blessing^H1293 and a curse^H7045:

Deu 11:27

Deu 11:27the blessing, if you listen to the commandments of Yahweh your God, which I am commanding you today;

Deu 11:28

Deu 11:28and the curse, if you do not listen to the commandments of Yahweh your God, but turn aside from the way which I am commanding you today, by walking after other gods which you have not known.

Deu 11:29

“And it will be^H1961, when^H3588 Yahweh^H3068 your God^H430 brings^H935 you into the land^H776 where^H834^H8033 you are entering^H935 to possess^H3423 it, that you shall set^H5414 the blessing^H1293 on Mount^H2022 Gerizim^H1630 and the curse^H7045 on Mount^H2022 Ebal^H5858.

Deu 11:30

Deu 11:30“Are they not across the Jordan, west of the way toward the sunset, in the land of the Canaanites who live in the Arabah, opposite Gilgal, beside the [fn]oaks of Moreh?

Deu 11:31

Deu 11:31“For you are about to cross the Jordan to go in to possess the land which Yahweh your God is giving you, and you shall possess it and live in it,
