God Loves a Cheerful Giver

For it is superfluous^G4053 for me to write^G1125 to you about^G4012 this^G3588 ministry^G1248 to the [fn]saints^G40;

2Co 9:2for I know your readiness, of which I boast about you to the Macedonians, that Achaia has been prepared since last year, and your zeal stirred up most of them.

2Co 9:3

2Co 9:3But I have sent the brothers, in order that our boasting about you may not be made empty in this case, so that, as I was saying, you may be prepared;

2Co 9:4

2Co 9:4lest if any Macedonians come with me and find you unprepared, we—not to speak of you—be put to shame in this certainty of ours.

2Co 9:5

2Co 9:5So I regarded it necessary to encourage the brothers that they would go on ahead to you and arrange beforehand your previously promised blessing, so that the same would be ready as a blessing and not as a [fn]begrudging obligation.

2Co 9:6

Now^G1161 this^G3778 I say, he who sows^G4687 sparingly^G5340 will also^G2532 reap^G2325 sparingly^G5340, and he who sows^G4687 with blessing^G2129 will also^G2532 reap^G2325 with blessing^G2129.

2Co 9:7

2Co 9:7Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

2Co 9:8

2Co 9:8And God is able to make every grace abound to you, so that in everything at every time having every sufficiency, you may have an abundance for every good deed;

2Co 9:9

2Co 9:9as it is written,

“HE SCATTERED^G4650 ABROAD, HE GAVE^G1325 TO THE NEEDY^G3993,

HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS^G1343 [fn]STANDS^G3306 FOREVER^G165.”

2Co 9:10

Now^G1161 He who supplies^G2023 SEED^G4690 TO THE SOWER^G4687 AND BREAD^G740 FOR FOOD^G1035 will supply^G5524 and multiply^G4129 your seed^G4703 and increase^G837 the harvest^G6013 of your righteousness^G1343;

2Co 9:11

2Co 9:11you will be enriched in everything for all generosity, which through us is bringing about thanksgiving to God.

2Co 9:12

2Co 9:12For the ministry of this service is not only fully supplying the needs of the [fn]saints, but is also abounding through many thanksgivings to God.

2Co 9:13

2Co 9:13Because of the proven character given by this ministry, they will glorify God for your obedience to your confession of the gospel of Christ and for the [fn]generosity of your [fn]fellowship toward them and toward all,
