2Co 2:1

2Co 2:2

2Co 2:2For if I cause you sorrow, who then makes me glad but the one whom I made sorrowful?

2Co 2:3

2Co 2:3And this is the very thing I wrote you, so that when I came, I would not have sorrow from those who ought to make me rejoice; having confidence in you all that my joy would be the joy of you all.

2Co 2:4

2Co 2:4For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote to you with many tears; not so that you would be made sorrowful, but that you might know the love which I have abundantly for you.

Forgive and Love the Sinner

2Co 2:5

But if^G1487 any^G5100 has caused^G3076 sorrow^G3076, he has caused^G3076 sorrow^G3076 not to me, but in some^G3313 degree^G3313—[fn]in^G3313 order^G2443 not to say^G1912 too^G1912 much^G1912—to all^G3956 of you.

2Co 2:6Sufficient for such a one is this punishment which was inflicted by the majority,

2Co 2:7

2Co 2:7so that on the contrary you should rather graciously forgive and comfort him, lest such a one be swallowed up by excessive sorrow.

2Co 2:8

2Co 2:8Therefore I encourage you to reaffirm your love for him.

2Co 2:9

2Co 2:9For to this end also I wrote, so that I might know your proven character, whether you are obedient in all things.

2Co 2:10

2Co 2:10But one whom you graciously forgive anything, I graciously forgive also. For indeed what I have graciously forgiven, if I have graciously forgiven anything, I did it for your sakes in the presence of Christ,

2Co 2:11

2Co 2:11so that no advantage would be taken of us by Satan, for we are not ignorant of his schemes.

2Co 2:12

Now^G1161 when I came^G2064 to Troas^G5174 for the gospel^G2098 of Christ^G5547 and when a door^G2374 was opened^G455 for me in the Lord^G2962,

2Co 2:13

2Co 2:13I had no rest for my spirit, not finding Titus my brother. But saying farewell to them, I went on to Macedonia.

But thanks^G5485 be to God^G2316, who always^G3842 leads^G2358 us in^G2358 triumphal^G2358 procession^G2358 in Christ^G5547, and manifests^G5319 through^G1223 us the aroma^G3744 of the knowledge^G1108 of Him in every^G3956 place^G5117.

2Co 2:15For we are a fragrance of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing;

2Co 2:16

2Co 2:16to the one an aroma from death to death, to the other an aroma from life to life. And who is sufficient for these things?

2Co 2:17

2Co 2:17For we are not like many, [fn]peddling the word of God, but as from sincerity, but as from God, in the sight of God, we speak in Christ.
