Jotham Reigns over Judah

(2Ki 15:32–38 )

Jotham^H3147 was twenty-five^H6242^H2568 years^H8141 old^H1121 when he became^H4427 king^H4427, and he reigned^H4427 sixteen^H8337^H6240 years^H8141 in Jerusalem^H3389. And his mother’s^H517 name^H8034 was Jerushah^H3388 the daughter^H1323 of Zadok^H6659.

2Ch 27:2And he did what was right in the sight of Yahweh, according to all that his father Uzziah had done; however he did not enter the temple of Yahweh. But the people continued acting corruptly.

2Ch 27:3He built the upper gate of the house of Yahweh, and he built extensively the wall of Ophel.

2Ch 27:4

2Ch 27:4Moreover, he built cities in the hill country of Judah, and he built fortresses and towers on the wooded hills.

2Ch 27:5

2Ch 27:5He fought also with the king of the sons of Ammon and prevailed over them. So the sons of Ammon gave him during that year [fn]100 talents of silver, [fn]10,000 kors of wheat, and 10,000 of barley. The sons of Ammon also brought back to him this amount in the second and in the third year.

2Ch 27:6So Jotham became strong because he established his ways before Yahweh his God.

2Ch 27:7

2Ch 27:7Now the rest of the acts of Jotham, even all his wars and his ways, behold, they are written in the Book of the Kings of Israel and Judah.

2Ch 27:8

2Ch 27:8He was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem.

2Ch 27:9

2Ch 27:9And Jotham slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David; and Ahaz his son became king in his place.
