Jehoshaphat Returns to Jerusalem

Then Jehoshaphat^H3092 the king^H4428 of Judah^H3063 returned^H7725 in peace^H7965 to his house^H1004 in Jerusalem^H3389.

2Ch 19:2

2Ch 19:2And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him to his face and said to King Jehoshaphat, “Should you help the wicked and love those who hate Yahweh and [fn]so bring wrath on yourself from Yahweh?

2Ch 19:3

2Ch 19:3“But some good has been found in you, for you have purged the [fn]Asheroth from the land and you have set your heart to seek God.”

2Ch 19:4

So Jehoshaphat^H3092 lived^H3427 in Jerusalem^H3389. Indeed, he returned^H7725 and went^H3318 out^H3318 among the people^H5971 from Beersheba^H884 to the hill^H2022 country^H2022 of Ephraim^H669 and caused them to return^H7725 back^H7725 to Yahweh^H3068, the God^H430 of their fathers^H1.

Jehoshaphat Appoints Judges

2Ch 19:5

2Ch 19:5And he appointed judges in the land in all the fortified cities of Judah, in each city.

2Ch 19:6

2Ch 19:6And he said to the judges, “Consider what you are doing, for you do not judge for man but for Yahweh who is with you [fn]when you render judgment.

2Ch 19:7

2Ch 19:7“So now then let the dread of Yahweh be upon you; [fn]be careful what you do, because [fn]with Yahweh our God there is no unrighteousness or partiality or the taking of a bribe.”

2Ch 19:8

In Jerusalem^H3389 also^H1571 Jehoshaphat^H3092 appointed^H5975 some^H4480 of the Levites^H3881 and priests^H3548, and some^H4480 of the heads^H7218 of the fathers’^H1 households of Israel^H3478, for the judgment^H4941 of Yahweh^H3068 and to judge^H7378 [fn]disputes^H7378. So they returned^H7725 to Jerusalem^H3389.

2Ch 19:9

2Ch 19:9Then he commanded them saying, “Thus you shall do in the fear of Yahweh, faithfully and wholeheartedly.

2Ch 19:10

2Ch 19:10“Whenever any dispute comes to you from your brothers who live in their cities, between blood and blood, between law and commandment, statutes and judgments, you shall warn them so that they may not be guilty before Yahweh and wrath may not come on you and your brothers. Thus you shall do, and you will not be guilty.

2Ch 19:11

2Ch 19:11“And behold, Amariah the chief priest will be over you in [fn]all that pertains to Yahweh, and Zebadiah the son of Ishmael, the ruler of the house of Judah, in [fn]all that pertains to the king. Also the Levites shall be officers before you. Be strong and act, and Yahweh be with the one who is good.”
