Shepherd the Flock of God

Therefore^G3767, I exhort^G3870 the elders^G4245 among^G1722 you, as your fellow^G4850 elder^G4850 and witness^G3144 of the sufferings^G3804 of Christ^G5547, and a partaker^G2844 also^G2532 of the glory^G1391 that is to be revealed^G601,

1Pe 5:2

1Pe 5:2shepherd the flock of God among you, overseeing not under compulsion, but willingly, according to God; and not for dishonest gain, but with eagerness;

1Pe 5:3

1Pe 5:3nor yet as lording it over [fn]those allotted to you, but being examples to the flock.

1Pe 5:4

1Pe 5:4And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading [fn]crown of glory.

1Pe 5:5

1Pe 5:5You younger men, likewise, be subject to your elders. And all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, for GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE.

1Pe 5:7CASTING ALL YOUR ANXIETY ON HIM, because He cares for you.

1Pe 5:8

1Pe 5:8Be of sober spirit, be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

1Pe 5:9

1Pe 5:9 [fn]But resist him, firm in the faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished among your [fn]brethren who are in the world.

1Pe 5:10

1Pe 5:10And after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself restore, strengthen, confirm, and ground you.

1Pe 5:11

1Pe 5:11To Him be might forever and ever. Amen.
