1 Chronicles 14 :: Hebrew Names Version (HNV)

1Ch 14:1

1Ch 14:1Hiram king of Tzor sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, and masons, and carpenters, to build him a house.

1Ch 14:2

1Ch 14:2David perceived that the LORD had established him king over Yisra'el; for his kingdom was exalted on high, for his people Yisra'el's sake.

1Ch 14:3

1Ch 14:3David took more wives at Yerushalayim; and David became the father of more sons and daughters.

1Ch 14:4

1Ch 14:4These are the names of the children whom he had in Yerushalayim: Shammua, and Shovav, Natan, and Shlomo,

1Ch 14:5

1Ch 14:5and Yivchar, and Elishua, and Elpelet,

1Ch 14:6

1Ch 14:6and Nogah, and Nefeg, and Yafia,

1Ch 14:7

1Ch 14:7and Elishama, and Be`elyada, and Elifelet.

1Ch 14:8

1Ch 14:8When the Pelishtim heard that David was anointed king over all Yisra'el, all the Pelishtim went up to seek David: and David heard of it, and went out against them.

1Ch 14:9

1Ch 14:9Now the Pelishtim had come and made a raid in the valley of Refa'im.

1Ch 14:10

1Ch 14:10David inquired of God, saying, Shall I go up against the Pelishtim? and will you deliver them into my hand? the LORD said to him, Go up; for I will deliver them into your hand.

1Ch 14:11

1Ch 14:11So they came up to Ba`al-Peratzim, and David struck them there; and David said, God has broken my enemies by my hand, like the breach of waters. Therefore they called the name of that place Ba`al-Peratzim.

1Ch 14:12

1Ch 14:12They left their gods there; and David gave mitzvah, and they were burned with fire.

1Ch 14:13

1Ch 14:13The Pelishtim yet again made a raid in the valley.

1Ch 14:14

1Ch 14:14David inquired again of God; and God said to him, You shall not go up after them: turn away from them, and come on them over against the mulberry trees.

1Ch 14:15

1Ch 14:15It shall be, when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then you shall go out to battle; for God is gone out before you to strike the host of the Pelishtim.

1Ch 14:16

1Ch 14:16David did as God commanded him: and they struck the host of the Pelishtim from Giv`on even to Gezer.

1Ch 14:17

1Ch 14:17The fame of David went out into all lands; and the LORD brought the fear of him on all nations.
