Psalm 135 :: English Standard Version (ESV)

Your Name, O Lord, Endures Forever

Psa 135:1

Psa 135:1Praise the LORD!
Praise the name of the LORD,
give praise, O servants of the LORD,

Psa 135:2

Psa 135:2who stand in the house of the LORD,
in the courts of the house of our God!

Psa 135:3

Psa 135:3Praise the LORD, for the LORD is good;
sing to his name, for it is pleasant![fn]

Psa 135:4

Psa 135:4For the LORD has chosen Jacob for himself,
Israel as his own possession.

Psa 135:5

Psa 135:5For I know that the LORD is great,
and that our Lord is above all gods.

Psa 135:6

Psa 135:6Whatever the LORD pleases, he does,
in heaven and on earth,
in the seas and all deeps.

Psa 135:7

Psa 135:7He it is who makes the clouds rise at the end of the earth,
who makes lightnings for the rain
and brings forth the wind from his storehouses.

Psa 135:8

Psa 135:8He it was who struck down the firstborn of Egypt,
both of man and of beast;

Psa 135:9

Psa 135:9who in your midst, O Egypt,
sent signs and wonders
against Pharaoh and all his servants;

Psa 135:10

Psa 135:10who struck down many nations
and killed mighty kings,

Psa 135:11

Psa 135:11Sihon, king of the Amorites,
and Og, king of Bashan,
and all the kingdoms of Canaan,

Psa 135:12

Psa 135:12and gave their land as a heritage,
a heritage to his people Israel.

Psa 135:13

Psa 135:13Your name, O LORD, endures forever,
your renown,[fn] O LORD, throughout all ages.

Psa 135:14

Psa 135:14For the LORD will vindicate his people
and have compassion on his servants.

Psa 135:15

Psa 135:15The idols of the nations are silver and gold,
the work of human hands.

Psa 135:16

Psa 135:16They have mouths, but do not speak;
they have eyes, but do not see;

Psa 135:17

Psa 135:17they have ears, but do not hear,
nor is there any breath in their mouths.

Psa 135:18

Psa 135:18Those who make them become like them,
so do all who trust in them.

Psa 135:19

Psa 135:19O house of Israel, bless the LORD!
O house of Aaron, bless the LORD!

Psa 135:20

Psa 135:20O house of Levi, bless the LORD!
You who fear the LORD, bless the LORD!

Psa 135:21

Psa 135:21Blessed be the LORD from Zion,
he who dwells in Jerusalem!
Praise the LORD!
