Psalm 99 :: Darby Translation (DBY)

Psa 99:1Jehovah reigneth: let the peoples tremble. He sitteth between the cherubim: let the earth be moved.
Psa 99:2Jehovah is great in Zion, and he is high above all the peoples.
Psa 99:3They shall praise thy great and terrible name, -- it is holy! --
Psa 99:4And the strength of the king that loveth justice. *Thou* hast established equity: it is thou that executest judgment and righteousness in Jacob.
Psa 99:5Exalt Jehovah our God, and worship at his footstool. He is holy!
Psa 99:6Moses and Aaron among his priests, and Samuel among them that call upon his name: they called unto Jehovah, and *he* answered them.
Psa 99:7He spoke unto them in the pillar of cloud: they kept his testimonies, and the statute that he gave them.
Psa 99:8Jehovah, our God, *thou* answeredst them: a forgiving God wast thou unto them, though thou tookest vengeance of their doings.
Psa 99:9Exalt Jehovah our God, and worship at the hill of his holiness; for holy is Jehovah our God.

In 1867, John Nelson Darby translated the New Testament from Greek into English. Further revisions were done in 1872 and 1884. Darby’s work was first published as The Holy Scriptures: A New Translation from the Original Languages by J. N. Darby. After Darby’s death in 1882, some of his students worked together to produce the complete Darby Bible based on the Masoretic Hebrew text, Darby’s German (Elberfelder), and the French (Pau) translations. In 1890, the first complete Darby Bible was published in English. This translation of the Bible is in the public domain.
