Psalm 96 :: Darby Translation (DBY)

Psa 96:1

Psa 96:1Sing ye unto Jehovah a new song: sing unto Jehovah, all the earth.

Psa 96:2

Psa 96:2Sing unto Jehovah, bless his name; publish his salvation from day to day.

Psa 96:3

Psa 96:3Declare his glory among the nations, his wondrous works among all the peoples.

Psa 96:4

Psa 96:4For Jehovah is great and exceedingly to be praised; he is terrible above all gods.

Psa 96:5

Psa 96:5For all the gods of the peoples are idols; but Jehovah made the heavens.

Psa 96:6

Psa 96:6Majesty and splendour are before him; strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.

Psa 96:7

Psa 96:7Give unto Jehovah, ye families of peoples, give unto Jehovah glory and strength;

Psa 96:8

Psa 96:8Give unto Jehovah the glory of his name; bring an oblation and come into his courts;

Psa 96:9

Psa 96:9Worship Jehovah in holy splendour; tremble before him, all the earth.

Psa 96:10

Psa 96:10Say among the nations, Jehovah reigneth! yea, the world is established, it shall not be moved; he will execute judgment upon the peoples with equity.

Psa 96:11

Psa 96:11Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof;

Psa 96:12

Psa 96:12Let the field exult and all that is therein. Then shall all the trees of the forest sing for joy,

Psa 96:13

Psa 96:13Before Jehovah, for he cometh; for he cometh to judge the earth: he will judge the world with righteousness, and the peoples in his faithfulness.

In 1867, John Nelson Darby translated the New Testament from Greek into English. Further revisions were done in 1872 and 1884. Darby’s work was first published as The Holy Scriptures: A New Translation from the Original Languages by J. N. Darby. After Darby’s death in 1882, some of his students worked together to produce the complete Darby Bible based on the Masoretic Hebrew text, Darby’s German (Elberfelder), and the French (Pau) translations. In 1890, the first complete Darby Bible was published in English. This translation of the Bible is in the public domain.
