Psalm 94 :: Darby Translation (DBY)

Psa 94:1O God of vengeances, Jehovah, God of vengeances, shine forth;
Psa 94:2Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth, render the reward to the proud.
Psa 94:3How long shall the wicked, O Jehovah, how long shall the wicked triumph?
Psa 94:4How long shall they utter and speak insolence -- all the workers of iniquity boast themselves?
Psa 94:5They crush thy people, O Jehovah, and afflict thine inheritance;
Psa 94:6They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless,
Psa 94:7And say, Jah will not see, neither will the God of Jacob regard it.
Psa 94:8Understand, ye brutish among the people; and ye fools, when will ye be wise?
Psa 94:9He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? He that formed the eye, shall he not see?
Psa 94:10He that instructeth the nations, shall not he correct -- he that teacheth man knowledge?
Psa 94:11Jehovah knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.
Psa 94:12Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Jah, and whom thou teachest out of thy law;
Psa 94:13That thou mayest give him rest from the days of evil, until the pit be digged for the wicked.
Psa 94:14For Jehovah will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance;
Psa 94:15For judgment shall return unto righteousness, and all the upright in heart shall follow it.
Psa 94:16Who will rise up for me against the evil-doers? who will stand for me against the workers of iniquity?
Psa 94:17If Jehovah had not been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence.
Psa 94:18When I said, My foot slippeth, thy loving-kindness, O Jehovah, held me up.
Psa 94:19In the multitude of my anxious thoughts within me thy comforts have delighted my soul.
Psa 94:20Shall the throne of wickedness be united to thee, which frameth mischief into a law?
Psa 94:21They band together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn innocent blood.
Psa 94:22But Jehovah will be my high tower; and my God the rock of my refuge.
Psa 94:23And he will bring upon them their iniquity, and will cut them off in their own evil: Jehovah our God will cut them off.

In 1867, John Nelson Darby translated the New Testament from Greek into English. Further revisions were done in 1872 and 1884. Darby’s work was first published as The Holy Scriptures: A New Translation from the Original Languages by J. N. Darby. After Darby’s death in 1882, some of his students worked together to produce the complete Darby Bible based on the Masoretic Hebrew text, Darby’s German (Elberfelder), and the French (Pau) translations. In 1890, the first complete Darby Bible was published in English. This translation of the Bible is in the public domain.
