Psalm 87 :: Darby Translation (DBY)

Psa 87:1{Of the sons of Korah. A Psalm. A Song.} His foundation is in the mountains of holiness.
Psa 87:2Jehovah loveth the gates of Zion more than all the habitations of Jacob.
Psa 87:3Glorious things are spoken of thee, O city of God. Selah.
Psa 87:4I will make mention of Rahab and Babylon among them that know me; behold Philistia, and Tyre, with Ethiopia: this man was born there.
Psa 87:5And of Zion it shall be said, This one and that one was born in her; and the Most High himself shall establish her.
Psa 87:6Jehovah will count, when he inscribeth the peoples, This man was born there. Selah.
Psa 87:7As well the singers as the dancers shall say, All my springs are in thee.

In 1867, John Nelson Darby translated the New Testament from Greek into English. Further revisions were done in 1872 and 1884. Darby’s work was first published as The Holy Scriptures: A New Translation from the Original Languages by J. N. Darby. After Darby’s death in 1882, some of his students worked together to produce the complete Darby Bible based on the Masoretic Hebrew text, Darby’s German (Elberfelder), and the French (Pau) translations. In 1890, the first complete Darby Bible was published in English. This translation of the Bible is in the public domain.
