Psalm 86 :: Darby Translation (DBY)

Psa 86:1{A Prayer of David.} Incline thine ear, Jehovah, answer me; for I am afflicted and needy.
Psa 86:2Keep my soul, for I am godly; O thou my God, save thy servant who confideth in thee.
Psa 86:3Be gracious unto me, O Lord; for unto thee do I call all the day.
Psa 86:4Rejoice the soul of thy servant; for unto thee, Lord, do I lift up my soul.
Psa 86:5For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive, and art of great loving-kindness unto all that call upon thee.
Psa 86:6Give ear, O Jehovah, unto my prayer, and attend to the voice of my supplications.
Psa 86:7In the day of my distress I will call upon thee, for thou wilt answer me.
Psa 86:8Among the gods there is none like unto thee, Lord, and there is nothing like unto thy works.
Psa 86:9All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O Lord, and shall glorify thy name.
Psa 86:10For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: thou art God, thou alone.
Psa 86:11Teach me thy way, Jehovah; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.
Psa 86:12I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with my whole heart; and I will glorify thy name for evermore.
Psa 86:13For great is thy loving-kindness toward me, and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest Sheol.
Psa 86:14O God, the proud are risen against me, and the assembly of the violent seek after my soul, and they have not set thee before them.
Psa 86:15But thou, Lord, art a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in goodness and truth.
Psa 86:16Turn toward me, and be gracious unto me; give thy strength unto thy servant, and save the son of thine handmaid.
Psa 86:17Shew me a token for good, that they which hate me may see it, and be ashamed; for thou, Jehovah, hast helped me and comforted me.

In 1867, John Nelson Darby translated the New Testament from Greek into English. Further revisions were done in 1872 and 1884. Darby’s work was first published as The Holy Scriptures: A New Translation from the Original Languages by J. N. Darby. After Darby’s death in 1882, some of his students worked together to produce the complete Darby Bible based on the Masoretic Hebrew text, Darby’s German (Elberfelder), and the French (Pau) translations. In 1890, the first complete Darby Bible was published in English. This translation of the Bible is in the public domain.
