Psalm 84 :: Darby Translation (DBY)

Psa 84:1{To the chief Musician. Upon the Gittith. Of the sons of Korah. A Psalm.} How amiable are thy tabernacles, O Jehovah of hosts!
Psa 84:2My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of Jehovah; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.
Psa 84:3Yea, the sparrow hath found a house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she layeth her young, thine altars, O Jehovah of hosts, my King and my God.
Psa 84:4Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be constantly praising thee. Selah.
Psa 84:5Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee, -- they, in whose heart are the highways.
Psa 84:6Passing through the valley of Baca, they make it a well-spring; yea, the early rain covereth it with blessings.
Psa 84:7They go from strength to strength: each one will appear before God in Zion.
Psa 84:8Jehovah, God of hosts, hear my prayer; give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah.
Psa 84:9Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed.
Psa 84:10For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather stand at the threshold of the house of my God, than dwell in the tents of wickedness.
Psa 84:11For Jehovah Elohim is a sun and shield: Jehovah will give grace and glory; no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
Psa 84:12Jehovah of hosts, blessed is the man that confideth in thee!

In 1867, John Nelson Darby translated the New Testament from Greek into English. Further revisions were done in 1872 and 1884. Darby’s work was first published as The Holy Scriptures: A New Translation from the Original Languages by J. N. Darby. After Darby’s death in 1882, some of his students worked together to produce the complete Darby Bible based on the Masoretic Hebrew text, Darby’s German (Elberfelder), and the French (Pau) translations. In 1890, the first complete Darby Bible was published in English. This translation of the Bible is in the public domain.
