Psalm 82 :: Darby Translation (DBY)

Psa 82:1{A Psalm of Asaph.} God standeth in the assembly of God, he judgeth among the gods.
Psa 82:2How long will ye judge unrighteously, and accept the person of the wicked? Selah.
Psa 82:3Judge the poor and the fatherless, do justice to the afflicted and the destitute;
Psa 82:4Rescue the poor and needy, deliver them out of the hand of the wicked.
Psa 82:5They know not, neither do they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are moved.
Psa 82:6I have said, Ye are gods, and all of you are children of the Most High;
Psa 82:7But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.
Psa 82:8Arise, O God, judge the earth; for *thou* shalt inherit all the nations.

In 1867, John Nelson Darby translated the New Testament from Greek into English. Further revisions were done in 1872 and 1884. Darby’s work was first published as The Holy Scriptures: A New Translation from the Original Languages by J. N. Darby. After Darby’s death in 1882, some of his students worked together to produce the complete Darby Bible based on the Masoretic Hebrew text, Darby’s German (Elberfelder), and the French (Pau) translations. In 1890, the first complete Darby Bible was published in English. This translation of the Bible is in the public domain.
