Psa 81:1{To the chief Musician. Upon the Gittith. A Psalm of Asaph.} Sing ye joyously unto God our strength, shout aloud unto the God of Jacob;

Psa 81:2

Psa 81:2Raise a song, and sound the tambour, the pleasant harp with the lute.

Psa 81:3

Psa 81:3Blow the trumpet at the new moon, at the set time, on our feast day:

Psa 81:4

Psa 81:4For this is a statute for Israel, an ordinance of the God of Jacob;

Psa 81:5He ordained it in Joseph for a testimony, when he went forth over the land of Egypt, where I heard a language that I knew not.

Psa 81:6I removed his shoulder from the burden; his hands were freed from the basket.

Psa 81:7

Psa 81:7Thou calledst in trouble, and I delivered thee; I answered thee in the secret place of thunder; I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. Selah.

Psa 81:8

Psa 81:8Hear, my people, and I will testify unto thee; O Israel, if thou wouldest hearken unto me!

Psa 81:9

Psa 81:9There shall no strange god be in thee, neither shalt thou worship any foreign god.

Psa 81:10

Psa 81:10I am Jehovah thy God, that brought thee up out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.

Psa 81:11

Psa 81:11But my people hearkened not to my voice, and Israel would none of me.

Psa 81:12

Psa 81:12So I gave them up unto their own hearts' stubbornness: they walked after their own counsels.

Psa 81:13

Psa 81:13Oh that my people had hearkened unto me, that Israel had walked in my ways!

Psa 81:14

Psa 81:14I would soon have subdued their enemies, and turned my hand against their adversaries.

Psa 81:15

Psa 81:15The haters of Jehovah would have come cringing unto him; but their time would have been for ever.

Psa 81:16

Psa 81:16And he would have fed them with the finest of wheat; yea, with honey out of the rock would I have satisfied thee.

In 1867, John Nelson Darby translated the New Testament from Greek into English. Further revisions were done in 1872 and 1884. Darby’s work was first published as The Holy Scriptures: A New Translation from the Original Languages by J. N. Darby. After Darby’s death in 1882, some of his students worked together to produce the complete Darby Bible based on the Masoretic Hebrew text, Darby’s German (Elberfelder), and the French (Pau) translations. In 1890, the first complete Darby Bible was published in English. This translation of the Bible is in the public domain.
