Psalm 76 :: Darby Translation (DBY)

Psa 76:1{To the chief Musician. On stringed instruments. A Psalm of Asaph: a Song.} In Judah is God known, his name is great in Israel;
Psa 76:2And in Salem is his tent, and his dwelling-place in Zion.
Psa 76:3There broke he the flashings of the bow, shield and sword and battle. Selah.
Psa 76:4More glorious art thou, more excellent, than the mountains of prey.
Psa 76:5The stout-hearted are made a spoil, they have slept their sleep; and none of the men of might have found their hands.
Psa 76:6At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, both chariot and horse are cast into a dead sleep.
Psa 76:7Thou, thou art to be feared, and who can stand before thee when once thou art angry?
Psa 76:8Thou didst cause judgment to be heard from the heavens; the earth feared, and was still,
Psa 76:9When God rose up to judgment, to save all the meek of the earth. Selah.
Psa 76:10For the fury of man shall praise thee; the remainder of fury wilt thou gird on thyself.
Psa 76:11Vow and pay unto Jehovah your God: let all that are round about him bring presents unto him that is to be feared.
Psa 76:12He cutteth off the spirit of princes; he is terrible to the kings of the earth.

In 1867, John Nelson Darby translated the New Testament from Greek into English. Further revisions were done in 1872 and 1884. Darby’s work was first published as The Holy Scriptures: A New Translation from the Original Languages by J. N. Darby. After Darby’s death in 1882, some of his students worked together to produce the complete Darby Bible based on the Masoretic Hebrew text, Darby’s German (Elberfelder), and the French (Pau) translations. In 1890, the first complete Darby Bible was published in English. This translation of the Bible is in the public domain.
