Psalm 63 :: Darby Translation (DBY)

Psa 63:1{A Psalm of David; when he was in the wilderness of Judah.} O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee. My soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh languisheth for thee, in a dry and weary land without water:
Psa 63:2To see thy power and thy glory, as I have beheld thee in the sanctuary;
Psa 63:3For thy loving-kindness is better than life: my lips shall praise thee.
Psa 63:4So will I bless thee while I live; I will lift up my hands in thy name.
Psa 63:5My soul is satisfied as with marrow and fatness, and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips.
Psa 63:6When I remember thee upon my bed, I meditate on thee in the night-watches:
Psa 63:7For thou hast been my help, and in the shadow of thy wings will I sing for joy.
Psa 63:8My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.
Psa 63:9But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth;
Psa 63:10They shall be given over to the power of the sword; they shall be the portion of foxes.
Psa 63:11But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by him shall glory: for the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.

In 1867, John Nelson Darby translated the New Testament from Greek into English. Further revisions were done in 1872 and 1884. Darby’s work was first published as The Holy Scriptures: A New Translation from the Original Languages by J. N. Darby. After Darby’s death in 1882, some of his students worked together to produce the complete Darby Bible based on the Masoretic Hebrew text, Darby’s German (Elberfelder), and the French (Pau) translations. In 1890, the first complete Darby Bible was published in English. This translation of the Bible is in the public domain.
