Psalm 5 :: Darby Translation (DBY)

Psa 5:1{To the chief Musician. Upon Nehiloth. A Psalm of David.} Give ear to my words, O Jehovah; consider my meditation.
Psa 5:2Hearken unto the voice of my crying, my king and my God; for to thee will I pray.
Psa 5:3Jehovah, in the morning shalt thou hear my voice; in the morning will I address myself to thee, and will look up.
Psa 5:4For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness; evil shall not sojourn with thee.
Psa 5:5Insolent fools shall not stand before thine eyes; thou hatest all workers of iniquity.
Psa 5:6Thou wilt destroy them that speak lies: Jehovah abhorreth a man of blood and deceit.
Psa 5:7But as for me, in the greatness of thy loving-kindness will I enter thy house; I will bow down toward the temple of thy holiness in thy fear.
Psa 5:8Lead me, Jehovah, in thy righteousness, because of my foes; make thy way plain before me.
Psa 5:9For there is no certainty in their mouth; their inward part is perversion, their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.
Psa 5:10Bring guilt upon them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels: drive them out in the multitude of their transgressions, for they have rebelled against thee.
Psa 5:11And all that trust in thee shall rejoice: for ever shall they shout joyously, and thou wilt protect them; and they that love thy name shall exult in thee.
Psa 5:12For thou, Jehovah, wilt bless the righteous man; with favour wilt thou surround him as with a shield.

In 1867, John Nelson Darby translated the New Testament from Greek into English. Further revisions were done in 1872 and 1884. Darby’s work was first published as The Holy Scriptures: A New Translation from the Original Languages by J. N. Darby. After Darby’s death in 1882, some of his students worked together to produce the complete Darby Bible based on the Masoretic Hebrew text, Darby’s German (Elberfelder), and the French (Pau) translations. In 1890, the first complete Darby Bible was published in English. This translation of the Bible is in the public domain.
