Psalm 43 :: Darby Translation (DBY)

Psa 43:1

Psa 43:1Judge me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation; deliver me from the deceitful and unrighteous man.

Psa 43:2

Psa 43:2For thou art the God of my strength: why hast thou cast me off? why go I about mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?

Psa 43:3

Psa 43:3Send out thy light and thy truth: *they* shall lead me, *they* shall bring me to thy holy mount, and unto thy habitations.

Psa 43:4

Psa 43:4Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto the God of the gladness of my joy: yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God, my God.

Psa 43:5

Psa 43:5Why art thou cast down, my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope in God; for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.

In 1867, John Nelson Darby translated the New Testament from Greek into English. Further revisions were done in 1872 and 1884. Darby’s work was first published as The Holy Scriptures: A New Translation from the Original Languages by J. N. Darby. After Darby’s death in 1882, some of his students worked together to produce the complete Darby Bible based on the Masoretic Hebrew text, Darby’s German (Elberfelder), and the French (Pau) translations. In 1890, the first complete Darby Bible was published in English. This translation of the Bible is in the public domain.
