Psalm 34 :: Darby Translation (DBY)

Psa 34:1{A Psalm of David; when he changed his behaviour before Abimelech, who drove him away, and he departed.} I will bless Jehovah at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
Psa 34:2My soul shall make its boast in Jehovah: the meek shall hear, and rejoice.
Psa 34:3Magnify Jehovah with me, and let us exalt his name together.
Psa 34:4I sought Jehovah, and he answered me, and delivered me from all my fears.
Psa 34:5They looked unto him, and were enlightened, and their faces were not confounded.
Psa 34:6This afflicted one called, and Jehovah heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.
Psa 34:7The angel of Jehovah encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.
Psa 34:8Taste and see that Jehovah is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him!
Psa 34:9Fear Jehovah, ye his saints; for there is no want to them that fear him.
Psa 34:10The young lions are in need and suffer hunger; but they that seek Jehovah shall not want any good.
Psa 34:11Come, ye sons, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of Jehovah.
Psa 34:12What man is he that desireth life, and loveth days, that he may see good?
Psa 34:13Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile;
Psa 34:14Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
Psa 34:15The eyes of Jehovah are upon the righteous, and his ears are toward their cry;
Psa 34:16The face of Jehovah is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth:
Psa 34:17The righteous cry, and Jehovah heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.
Psa 34:18Jehovah is nigh to those that are of a broken heart, and saveth them that are of a contrite spirit.
Psa 34:19Many are the adversities of the righteous, but Jehovah delivereth him out of them all:
Psa 34:20He keepeth all his bones; not one of them is broken.
Psa 34:21Evil shall destroy the wicked; and they that hate the righteous shall bear their guilt.
Psa 34:22Jehovah redeemeth the soul of his servants; and none of them that trust in him shall bear guilt.

In 1867, John Nelson Darby translated the New Testament from Greek into English. Further revisions were done in 1872 and 1884. Darby’s work was first published as The Holy Scriptures: A New Translation from the Original Languages by J. N. Darby. After Darby’s death in 1882, some of his students worked together to produce the complete Darby Bible based on the Masoretic Hebrew text, Darby’s German (Elberfelder), and the French (Pau) translations. In 1890, the first complete Darby Bible was published in English. This translation of the Bible is in the public domain.
